McToran Return?

Would you like to see build-able Bionicle sets, like the McToran, return to McDonald's or otherwise?

I thought this would be a good move to fit in the inhabitants of Okoto.

 

If you would like to see these again, how would you want it done? How should it be done if it were to happen?

Personally I'd like to see something a bit smaller than the official Protectors to differentiate them. That is, if it could be done right. 

The McToran had perfect height vs Turaga and Toa, so something along those lines.

I would absolutely love that (even though I literally never go to McD). Maybe they could be the "regular" Protectors? Which might, conceivably, be smaller than the "elder" Protectors?

 

EDIT: Oh, and I only mean this in a "McToran" (as in, having real LEGOs) sense, not those little rubbery things.

That would be nice. But if Lego had their way they probably WOULD still release actual Lego toys when they did Happy Meals. The problem is that McDonalds got too many complaints from parents whose kids had trouble putting together the sets (or just needed help from their parents when the toy was meant to keep them occupied). These days they insist on toys which are complete right out of the package, hence the "silly rubber figurines".

It'd be really cool if it happened. It would definitely try and promote imagination and keep the kids occupied. Too bad that darn policy is too darn strong.

YES! And I had the most amazing idea yesterday: Protectors in Happy Meals. But get this... they would be CCBS versions of the McToran (like, the exact characters), with the signature disk launchers like the upcoming Protector sets have their six stud shooters. What do you think?

I was talking today with a few people about a McDonalds promotion, but no one seems to think its a thing, mostly because it would be too expensive. The price of plastic has gone up and though I would LOVE some tiny guys, it doesn't seem to be in the cards. Also Lego hasn't done anything with an actual set since 2001, which is a tad disappointing.

Seeing as the Protector sets are $10 a pop, I can't really picture them as Happy Meal toys even if Lego still did food tie-ins and McDonalds still allowed toys with some assembly required. Not unless Happy Meals got a lot more expensive.

But like I said, I'd rather not have to deal with ebay, where you have to pay for shipping, worry about quality/truthfulness, wait for a long time, struggle to find a seller who has all that you're looking for, etc. Just going to the store and buying them is a lot easier for me.

I'd like to see that. If they redesign the toa down the line they could include them with these "mini-villagers". 

 

I like small villagers in general. They can be very simple, unique, diverse, fun, and easy to use.

You know, that's not a bad idea at all. It'd allow for conflict in villain sets the same way the Skull Spiders provide it in the other sets. On the other hand, even a McToran-style build would be significantly bigger and more complex than the Skull Spiders, so it would be easy for people to perceive them as unnecessary additions that inflate the cost of sets.

 

I really think that, since the villagers seem like they'll be the same "species" as the Protectors, the easiest way to go about making them would be to just use parts like theirs to build custom villagers. That would promote creative building while allowing for a diverse cast of characters.

It would bug me a little if all the villagers have the same mask and it's not just the protectors. Diversity is always great to have, and I'd hate to have them lose character.

Apparently the Protectors ARE the villagers but also the elders. I can see them doing some promotional toys but more in the vain of 2006-2008 solid plastic chunks.

wish it could happen but it wont happen because things have changed especially Lego because Lego from 2001 and Lego of 2014 are very different of how they handle there sets in places.

The protectors seem more akin to turaga than matoran so more secondary sets would be nice (especially if they're better looking!) Remember the Toa Nuva stuff in mcDs though? They were just cheap plastic 'toys' not lego at all. I think if there's a promotion that's the sort of junk we'd get stuck with these days...

I don't know about that but I doubt that would happen, sure there was TLM cups but remember it was licenced via warner bros and they only gave them cups(and I believe lego did not manufacturer them). I don't think lego would be willing to risk their public image, after all look what happened with shell.

They might do so for the new Defender villagers. The ones in sets are village elders, just like the Turaga, and the villages of that day were in McDonalds Happy Meals. If they're keeping 2015 as parallel as I think they are to 2001 then they'll likely do it.

Well let's just say that hardcore fans won't really mind, I've actually seen a video on youtube of a brony who went to mcdonalds and bought two happy meals to get a small plastic Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash(both of which looked terrible might I add).
