Takua's Dream

Takua knew he was in a dream, but couldn't find a way to get out of it. Everything was dark, he didn't know where he was. Then, he suddenly found himself on the banks of a lava stream. From off in a corner, he watched himself skip stones across the stream to find a totem on the other bank. He saw himself find a strange Kanohi, of the kind he'd never seen before. He felt an odd sense of Deja Vu. "That's odd. I've never been to this stream before." Everything went dark. Takua was finally awake. Suddenly, a pair of jagged, blood-red eyes appeared, and it occurred to Takua that he was not awake at all. He was cold in the eyes' presence. They seemed to suck out all the light and happiness from the surrounding area. Without a mouth, the pair of eyes whipsered his name. "Taakuuaa. Taakuuaaa." Suddenly, he saw himself holding a pair of biouminescent plants, shouting for his friend Jaller. "Jaller!? Jaller!" His clone's feet carried him swiftly away from the cold silence around the eyes, but he could not remember seeing himself start running. Other-Takua came back into the light, and ran straight into Jaller, who was walking with Takua's crab Pewku. Jaller's mouth moved, but no words came out of them. Without having a pretext for his words, Other-Takua replied with, "I-I can't. You take the Mask." Jaller moved his mouth more, his eyes narrowed to an angry glare, but Takua still could not hear him... Takua's eyes opened slowly. He saw the warm glow of the sunrise and sat bolt upright in his bed, fearing that he was trapped inside another dream. He went to his washbasin and dipped his hands in the cool water to make sure he was awake. He felt the sharp cold of the water at his fingers and felt relieved to be conscious. He decided to shake off the oddly foreboding dream he had just woken up from and get started with his day. He grabbed his backpack and set out for the new Kohli Stadium to help set up for the match today. Later, Takua noticed a door off to the side of the Kohli Stadium's entrance that he'd never seen before. He went inside it, and walked down the stairwell he found there, and felt an overwhelming sense of Deja Vu wash over him. He felt anxious for some reason, but couldn't remember why. All he knew was that he'd had a bad dream the night before. He couldn't remember it, but that was fine with him. The stairwell opened up into a lava stream. There was a totem on the other side, and there happened to be stepping stones across to it. "Well, since I am the Chronicler, I might as well check it out!" Takua thought to himself. Takua proceeded to the totem and accidentally knocked it into the ground, revealing a strange Kanohi, of the kind he'd never seen before....
