Hapori Tohu
This story falls into the 'just plain cool' category. Leg Godt, the LEGO subsection of Gizmodo, has reported on some news from New York Comic Con. Their source? BZPower and our interview with Kari Vinther Nielsen. I'm sure you've all watched it by now, but in case you missed it, there will be a Bionicle game and app next year. Also, LEGO seems to have some big plans for the 14k solid gold masks, which I'm sure we'll hear more about in the coming months! It's exciting to see the Bionicle hype spreading around the Internet! Toa Smoke Monster
I've never heard of Gizmodo. But its still cool that they sourced BZP for one of their Lego stories. I can't wait to see what Bionicle game is coming out next year. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Lyichir
I lost a lot of respect for Gizmodo's Lego blog after their curmudgeonly initial post on Bionicle's return (Kotaku did a much better and more open-minded writeup). But I suppose even folks who don't think Bionicle is "real Lego" can get excited about apps and shiny things. xccj
So this is a report of someone who reported on our initial report? Yay. I still need to watch the rest of the interviews, but it's cool to see how much effort Lego's putting into this reboot, as well as the level of professional quality that Andrew put into these interviews. Glad it's being recognized! (I also found a link to their initial article, and it reminds me soooo much of what AFOLs were saying when Bionicle came out in 2001. Yes, it's not compatible with system, for the most part, but gosh Lego has been doing these for over a decade, get over yourselves already.) The Spectral Mask
I didn't notice that Kari mentioned a game until Gizmodo mentioned it in their first paragraph... and Zdenko said during the panel that the MNOLG had influenced the art style of the entire reboot. 2001 again... vector graphics... rumors of a game played on tablets... could another first-person adventure game be on the horizon? I'll try not to get my hopes up... ... and I will fail. I want it so much!
Banana Gunz
Bionicle game and Bionicle app, or Bionicle app game? Not sure... Nidhiki of the Shadows
Nice mention, BZP. Super excited for a game. Online or console, doesn't matter. Actually I kind of want a console game and an online game. Is it too much to ask for both?! -NotS
~ Toa Of Shadows ~
Well, it's pretty clear we will be getting a similar contest with the 14 karat gold masks like in 2001. I guess to make it more simply they are putting 7 up for the contest. I mean, what else will they do with these masks? I hope it's not a stupid give away... Quote Click me to see my Youtube Channel! Aanchir
I hope they do a good online game. OOG, anyone?Yes, please, with the new animation style and the webisodes as cutscenes! -Gata That would be amazing! I'm not sure if the LEGO Group would be willing to release a straight first-person adventure game like MNOG, but I'm sure if they worked hard at it, they could find a way to work in some action-based and strategy-based components. And my hopes are a lot higher since they've already identified the Mata Nui Online Game as one of their many influences for the animation style. Clearly, even if they don't release a game EXACTLY like it, they must recognize that it is a very well-loved part of the BIONICLE theme's early years. 1 Quote Latest MOC: PAIGE (Prototype Artificial Intelligence, Gynoid Expression)

Mostly I'm thinking that would be a way to add optional depth to the story. For those who just want something simple, the webisodes would be a simple and low-commitment way to access it, but for those who want to immerse themselves in every detail (and over-analyze those details) a game would be awesome. I'm just not sure they'll do it. They might not want to compete with their video game - or they might make the video game like that. If the latter happens, I hope it works on PC. I'm not going to get an expensive game console just to get the year's story. Takuta-Nui
I haven't read Gizmodo in ages, but it's certainly a higher-exposure site than BZPower, so this may garner us a few new members interested in the new story and sets. I'd call that a win! If there's a game too, I hope it's much more of an exploration game than a "do this before doing that" sort of linear construction that previous games have tended to be. It's hard to say because that takes a lot more investment and that depends on how much LEGO wants this to succeed. I'm sure they do, but I just wonder if they are still burnt out at all from the last 10 years.
