Lewa is the daredevil Toa of Air, tossing caution to the wind at any chance he gets. His attitude allows him to perform breathtaking stunts and acrobatics that the other Toa Mata can only hope to match. Of course, Lewa’s competitive streak will push him to goad the others into contests, even if they know he’ll blow them away anyways. There’s something about his frantic actions and longwinded gabbering that keep him on everyone’s good side, even if they don’t show it. Lewa is agile and quick, well adapted to life among the trees inLe-Wahi, moving like a breeze in and through the canopy. He can control the very air itself, using it to further enhance his agility and grace. With his Toa Tool, a lightweight yet sturdy axe, he can direct the wind in more outwardly practical manners.

This is a nice MOC, and the hands are good. (Never seen that design before!) What I don't like though, is Lewa's bulkiness. The lower arms and ankles just seem a bit too over-armoured, and they lend him a bulky look which really doesn't fit with Lewa's character. Also, I'd change the feet, as, like I stated before, the armour flows into them a bit too smoothly. Still, this is a great build, one which I think would probably look fairly good as a Matoro Mahri rebuild! Well done!

Nice job! The only complaint I have is the axe looks too small.

Thanks! I wanted to keep the Axe small and light-weight looking, keeping the spirit of his original axe.

Are you going to make the other Toa?

MAYBE

Part of this is due to the limited parts pallete, only so many parts come in Bright Green, but I have to say I really do appreciate how the armor segues into the thin upper arms. When the 2015 Lewa set comes out I might try other shells.

Ultimately though, I really like the vaguely megaman-ish proportions of Lewa, like he's wearing armor too big for him. =)

Oh, so Lewa is actually still male. Why him over the others?

Yep! For Lewa, I kinda felt it was "too easy", you know? Like, he's short and thin and lithe and people tended to go to him first when it comes to this sort of thing. I also had a fairly strong idea of what he looked like already, along with Kopaka and Pohatu, so I stuck with that and changed Tahu and Onua. (Well, I mean, there were other reasons but it started with that.)

This is great! Fantastic job making this!

Thank you very much!

Ah. So that makes it an even gender ration now, doesn't it?

I agree with other comments on proportions, he seems too short and stocky now (especially when you see him stood with Onua and Tahu!) He needs a longer neck to avoid giving him a hunchback  and I think could benefit from longer limbs in general too. I also agree that the limb armour makes him look a bit Popeye'd and could do with being moved from lower to upper limb or just evened out a bit if you have the pieces!

Also, why on earth are Tahu and Onua female now? Onua? Really? The squat little hard-as? Don't get me wrong, I'm not one for stereotypes and sexism but Onua is a bloke...

The color layering on this model is fantastic—the way it shifts from Bright Yellowish Green at the midsection to Bright Green on the upper torso helps keep the Dark Green mask from sticking out like a sore thumb. The hand design is also decent, and I love the contrast between the heavily armored lower limbs and torso and the thinner, more mechanical-looking upper limbs.

I feel like he has too much disjunction between his skinny bits and his heavily armored bulky bits.

Oh, I like this a lot! Some of the proportions are a drip off, but overall this captures Lewa nicely!

Thank you! = )

Honestly this gets to a point where we just have different visions for the character. He's always been rather "Animated Bumblebee" to me, as seen below, so the proportions work for me.

Thank you! A lot of my work recently, trying to utilize color layering, has been inspired by you and your brother's commentary on the subject. Trying to key in on what works and what doesn't. Happy to see I'm successful! = )

A large part of that, I'm afraid, is just going to come down to personal taste.

I like it. I think the upper part of the torso might be a little bit to big compared with the waist. When I envision Lewa, I don't see him with a ton of armor though. It seems to work though, since makes him seem stronger. The color scheme also looks pretty good. You did a nice job of blending the two shades of green.

Good Job!
