Orpanuux (Pronounced Or-pin-ics)

Entry Image

Beast-Scorpion Mode

Species: Makuta

Back Story: We all know that Teridax was the main leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta. To get his title, he had to overthrow the original leader, named Miserix. He wanted this to complete the Plan, or his plot to conquer the Great Spirit Mata Nui. Teridax rebelled against Miserix with most of the Brotherhood at his side, but some did not like the Plan. They stayed with Miserix. Orpanuux is one of these Makuta. Teridax supposedly hunted down and killed all of them, but Orpanuux escaped under the false identity of Antroz, who was loyal to Teridax. Yes, he is a shape-shifter. In fact, he hated the Plan so much he almost made it into the Order of Mata Nui under the false identity of a being similar to Brutaka. Not making it angered him. He went haywire and on no one's side. Some say he lurks in the forests of the Region of Jungle. Others say it's a myth. And there are a few who think he is a Protector among us. This story is as told by elders of the villages of Okoto. Yes, I think the Generation 1 Universe is told around campfires in the Generation 2 Universe.

Weapons: -A double-bladed staff with a crystal in the center that gives him his shape-shifting powers

-Long dagger stolen from a Makuta who followed Teridax.

Powers: -Shape-shifting

             -"Beast-Scorpion Mode"

Notes: -Very dangerous to meet.

-Two forms: Humanoid and "Beast-Scorpion Mode"

Creature Name: Aerodrax

Species: Only known one of it's kind

Gallery Link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129763343@N02/sets/72157649134502679/

Aerodrax is Okotoan for "sky terror". Flying with his huge rotors, he fires Skull Spiders from his ballista and carries a large shield. Although he rarely attacks, a village will spend years repairing the damage of a single strike. Aerodrax likes to hover high above a village and rain Skull Spiders down on crowds of people before landing and using his rotors to tear through streets and buildings. A failed project of Makuta's, Aerodrax was intended to be a guardian of Okoto before developing a personality and attacking its creator. It is unknown what Aerodrax does most of the time, but his attacks seem to be fun games that he plays when he's bored; although he uses Skull Spiders, he has been spotted fighting Skull Spider hordes in the jungle and has even disrupted their attacks on villages before. Strangely infectious if touched, it seems the only way to defeat him is by firing from a ranged distance. He is also vulnerable to high-pitched noise.

"Kai... Nireta... the other six Kakama-wearers... yep, Ga-Koro's all here!"

Entry 1: Ataran: The Demon of the Forge of Masks       Photo:  w3IodvV.jpg

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tahu descended into the darkness that enveloped the passage to the heart of the abandoned forge. The location was made even more intimidating as the sound of metal scraping on metal echoed throughout the chamber.  He tried to convince himself that he was not afraid. Tahu ignited one of his swords as he continued. The air around him got stuffier and hotter with every step. His mission was simple:  get to the center, and signal the others. The tunnel stopped as Tahu made his way into the main room. Lifting his sword, he could see some of the vast room.  It was lined with rows of anvils, and littered with discarded tools, with the great furnace in the center. It was amazing to think that this dusty old place had once been the most productive mask forge on Okoto! Thoughts of what this place may have been like in its prime rushed through Tahu’s head: the incessant pounding of workers hammers, the thousands of hunched figures scrutinizing their masks for any flaws…  Why had the fire tribe chosen to abandon this place? The demand for masks was as high as ever, and the place seemed like it was still in working condition…  Why WAS this place abandoned!? Suddenly, a large burst of flame came from the main furnace, startling Tahu. A large, shadowed figure was revealed by the light. It moved toward the blaze, igniting its back, head, and claws. The figure pointed its beastlike claw at Tahu, while raising his lance. Fear struck Tahu like lightning as the monstrous figure moved close. Too close. Tahu was within its reach. He could see the demon clearly now.

“Mata Nui… It’s hideous…” he gasped, realizing why the forge was abandoned.

It was covered head to toe with many pieces of assorted armor, with spikes and flames piercing out of its back. His lance, too, was made of other assorted weapons. They looked like weapons a Toa would use Discarded parts? Or were they the remains of its unfortunate victims? The beast turned to face Tahu, and its glowing red eyes had a bloodthirsty look in them. Tahu was too stunned to move. The beast grabbed Tahu by the throat and lifted him off the ground. It towered over him like a mountain dwarfs a tree. The last thing Tahu heard before he blacked out was the beast bellowing:

“I  WANT  YOUR  MASK!”

Here's to hoping my entries get somewhere!
Balatron is my favourite (it's the only one I named). They don't really have a back story, just out for that golden mask!
Sorry if the pictures are too big. None of them use illegal parts (painted/altered/damaged/non-lego), the fabric and nets used with Balatron are official pieces (the capes are from Vezon and Furno, nets are from an old Adventure set).

The Toa Inika/Mahri were the destined heroes of 2008, not the Toa Nuva... According to the Faber Files at least...

(I'll be entering my characters separately)

-Name: Venak

-Backstory: Venak was a former Toa of Air of Jovan's mysterious Toa team, separated from his comrades during an expedition on the island Visorak.  Captured and mutated by the spiders, Venak soon found freedom...and revenge.  Quickly escaping the island, Venak's mind became warped by the venom, slowly driving him to madness, and became obsessed with the concept of death, and developed a delight in trying various methods on those he came across.  One day, a shadowy figure whisked him to an island known as Destral, and gave him an opportunity: join a team he was preparing, and get all the fresh meat he desired.  He graciously accepted.  After painful experimentation, he is now equipped with a vicious alternate wolf form, and is more than ready to combat the enemies of the Makuta.

-Quote: "You think this is about vengeance, little Toa?  No...I've just come to enjoy the hunt...and the kill."

Entry 2:  Ataran: Warrior Form    Photo: 7rkQNYD.jpg

Ataran awoke to the gentle, yet sinister voice coming from the shadows surrounding him.

“Arise, Ataran…” It beckoned.

Ataran slowly rose to his feet. He immediately noticed his body was much lighter now. The mish-mash of armor pieces he once called a chest plate were now fused neatly into one. His lance was replaced by two flaming broadswords.

“I am Makuta. And you are my servant.” The figure said, emerging from the shadow.

Ataran shook his head violently and swung his swords aimlessly, smashing a boulder in the process.

“I call no being ‘master’,” Ataran retorted.

“You are indebted to me,” Makuta snarled, “Would you rather I had left you to die at the hands of the Toa?”

“No…” Ataran reluctantly conceded.

He winced as he recalled the events that transpired. Tahu was in his grasp, his mask, and the power it contained, would have been assimilated into him… But Tahu’s team had intervened…What had Makuta called them…Toa…was it? The fire tribe must have called on these warriors! Makuta saw Ataran’s state of reflection, and saw his chance to act.

“I have renewed your armor for a reason Ataran,” Makuta said, “you can have Tahu’s mask powers, as well as all the Toa’s, as well as the legendary masks. That is…IF you choose to follow me.”

“Makuta made a good point,” Ataran thought.

-Name: Subject 06012001, a.k.a Toa Hunter

-Backstory: Years after the fall of Makuta Teridax, the glorious city of New Atero came to be.  But with it came new problems, some in low places, some in high.  Turaga Dume, new head of the city council, began to become increasingly worried with the potential destructive power the Toa possessed, and sought to have them enlisted into a personal militia where he could monitor and enhace them with cybernetic implants that would rob subjects of their free will.  To accomplish this, Dume approved a special genetic project: the creation of the perfect predator.  After numerous trials and errors, that creature was finally born.  Equipped with experimental transforming technology, a massive cannon, fiery breath, enormous strength, a sharp, strategic intellect, heightened senses, , and fierce loyalty to Dume, the Toa Hunter is prepared to find any Toa and retrieve him, dead or alive, depending on his master's preferences.

Entry #1: Kravohka

Backstory:

This monstrosity came into being in Okoto’s distant past, and its creators are lost to time. All that is known of Kravokah’s origin is that it was made to defend Okoto from a prophesized threat that was imbued with all the elemental powers. When the mysterious threat was unleashed, Kravokah would awaken from its slumber and destroy the evil. However, this did not go as planned. During its many millennia of sleep, Kravokah’s programming became corrupted. So little was known about the prophesized evil that, as the would-be defender’s mind warped and snapped, it “realized” that any being on the island could become it. After its “revelation”, Kravokah awakened and began to pick off the islanders. Convinced that the islanders each harbored powerful, multi-elemental abilities, it would spend years stalking them, processing their every movement, before revealing itself and striking. The being’s mind was so twisted that, when the very evil it was made to destroy came into being, it did not notice. Kravokah is armed with many weapons, which are integrated into its body. When preparing to attack, some or all of these weapons emerge from its arms, legs, and torso. The abomination’s favorite seems to be its wrist-mounted blades, to the point where it sometimes forgoes use of other, more powerful weapons to use them.

Entry #2: Pokraknar

Backstory:

It is said that somewhere, deep in the deserts of Okoto, there lurks a terrifying creature. This creature, supposedly, feeds on emotions, but fear is its favorite. As some in the Stone Tribe know all too well, these rumors, tall tales, and whispers in the dark are true. This creature has a name: Pokraknar. Although Pokraknar usually projects horrifying mental images onto desert travelers, nibbling away at their fear from afar, the creature has sometimes been known to take a more direct approach. Shuffling through the sands on all three legs, it will sometimes attack caravans directly, allowing it to feast on all of its target’s emotions at once. This process, however, leaves them lifeless, empty husks. The last sight of many unlucky islanders is Pokraknar’s massive hand as it descends on its prey. Very little is known about the beast’s true capabilities, but its single, staring eye is said to be the source of its psychic abilities and its hand has a vice-like grip that can crush and squeeze its enemies into submission.

Entry #3: Tarsorat

Backstory:

A warrior from a distant land, Tarsorat came to Okoto when six burning stars fell from the sky. Having heard legends of these stars, and the warriors contained within, Tarsorat decided to seek them out, and, one by one, defeat the mighty warriors to become the greatest fighter in the universe. After journeying for many months, he finally arrived on the mystical island. At this point, he was frozen in a massive ice blast from Toa Kopaka. He has yet to thaw. Tarsorat is armed with two arm-mounted grapples. In combat, he uses his natural speed and jumping ability as much as possible.

-Name: Cordak, "The Last Makuta"

-Backstory: Cordak was once a simple Nynrah Ghost named Destrolax, whom inhabited an isolated village deep in the Southern Continent, commonly pillaged by Dark Hunter raiders.  To counteract the attacks, the Matoran constructed a massive robotic suit for personal combat against the thieves.  An explosive conflict ensued, only for the unleashed energies to destroy the village, and permanently fuse the suit to Destrolax's body.  Ridden with guilt and a hatred for the Dark Hunters, the Matoran wandered the wastelands of the Southern Continent for 10 years, refusing any companionship and slaughtering any Hunter he came across.  One day, he stumbled upon a furious battle between a Dark Hunter raiding party and a fortress held by the Brotherhood of Makuta.  Enraged to see more beings oppressed by the vicious murderers, Destrolax stepped in and quickly flanked and dispatched the attackers,  Impressed, the leader of the group of Makuta took him to Destral, where he was introduced to a visiting, and wounded, Teridax.  Teridax was intrigued by the Matoran's story, and gave his own secret: he was creating a special squad, a group of highly trained assassins at his beck and call, to which he required a leader.  Taken aback, Destrolax reluctantly refused, despite the prospect of doing battle with more Dark Hunters.  But Teridax didn't take know for an answer.  One swift blow, surgery, and implantation of a specialized helmet later, and the former Matoran was ready for service, and took on a new name under his new master: Cordak.  And thus the Shadow Hunters were born.  Following the death of his master at the hands of Mata Nui, Cordak was left devastated and lost.  But not directionless.  Rallying his team members to his side, Cordak took on a oath, to avenge his master and ensure that the future of the Toa would be a dark one.

-Quote: "You merely slew the master of shadows.  The shadows themselves shall always roam free."

Entry #4: The Distant

A long time ago, The Distant was once a normal villager on the island of Okoto. Deep inside, however, he coveted power above all else. At one point, he stole an ancient and evil artifact: the Staff of Pirah. Using the staff, he attempted to give himself power over all the elements. His evil ritual was stopped, but not before he gave himself the powers of Fire and Stone. Exiled and forever shunned from his village, The Distant clung to his staff. Over the centuries of wandering in the mountains, the Staff of Pirah augmented and twisted his form. A hideous black mutation began to creep up his left arm, where he held the staff. Whenever it touches another being, the Staff of Pirah infects them with the creeping black mutation, putting them under its control. As a result of the staff’s terrifying power, The Distant needs no other armaments besides his elemental powers and the staff itself.
