Mixels Forum?

I dunno, I feel like we should have one. It's the only forum we don't have for one of LEGO's multimedia themes, and I have a feeling that there would be a lot of activity in one. Who agrees?

With the return of Bionicle, I'm not sure if this would be a viable option. There may be a bit of activity now, though I personally haven't seen enough to merit its own forum, but when sets hit the markets and more and more is revealed, I foresee activity in the LEGO Discussion forum to decrease quite a bit. And that isn't exclusive to Mixels discussion, either.

Mixels isn't really story driven, so there's much less to discuss on it,

in fact, i can't think of any time i've seen a topic dedicated to discussing something from that theme. :0

There's "story" to discuss. Little story, but still a story. There's... conflict.

And I've seen tons of MOCs and artwork on here. And BZP has reported on quite a few Mixels things, so there is definitely an interest.

Despite Mixels being one of the best lines Lego has ever released, there's just not a lot of discussion going on. I personally have seen very talk in the forums and only a handful of Mixel-specific MOCs.

If the need to designate a forum to Mixel discussion existed, then maybe? As it stands now, there is not a huge need for a dedicated forum.

Well, I'd really like to see more people talk about Mixels in the LEGO Discussion forum, enough to warrant its own. I am going to so something about it... it's one of my favorite themes next to BIONICLE and I would just love that to happen.

It would at least be cool to have a trial/test run for such a forum.

I agree with Makaru. There really isn't a lot of discussion about Mixels here from what I've seen. And look at the Ninjago and Chima forums. I believe they are considered to be popular Lego lines but those forums don't have a lot of discussions in them. It sometimes takes days before someone even makes a post in one of the topics in either of the forums.

If the interest in Mixels grows to the point where a forum is needed for it, then I'll be all for having one. As it stands now though, we really don't need it IMO.

Probably would end up like the Legends of Chima forum. One person's enthusiasm isn't enough to keep a forum running, or even two.

It's actually a function of the inverse power curve of social media. To sustain a forum, you need a few people (say, 5 at minimum) who are enthusiastic and post constantly. They you need about 20 or so who come in and post like once a week, but there's 20 of them, so at every given day you have at least three people or so online talking.

Today I count one person who wants to talk Mixels on here. Get 24 more of you on here and inundate Lego Discussion with the stuff, and I will get behind such a proposal.

That's the problem with non-Bionicle themes around here. (at least speaking of my experience with Chima, Ninjago, Mixels, even Hero Factory) Sometimes, especially when they're just starting out, there might be quite a bit of discussion, but eventually, it will die out, and relevant topics will die with it, which does a good job of ensuring that if anyone wants to go back and revive some discussion, they can't because, well, the topic is dead now. And you may want to start a new one, but since the old one died, would that even be a good idea? It's a bit of a vicious cycle.

Mixels is a bunch of brainless cartoon shorts with such classics as Krader shoving ice cream up his butt. The sets are neat and creative, but not enough to warrant a whole forum to discuss. Making a Mixels forum would be like making a LEGO City forum in its usefulness i.e. not much.

Good point. Mixels is literally nothing but comedy, with one episode featuring said butt comedy, and that would not work as a discussion forum. Even story driven themes like Ninjago and Chima have their respective forums which are rarely active. I think that one Lego Discussion forum is enough for all non Constraction themes. And ice cream doesn't always make everything better.

Krader shoving ice cream up his butt.

Wait, seriously?

But I just looked at the LEGO Discussion forum, and there's only one thread involving Mixels specifically, and that has only four replies in it.

So, yeah.

To be fair, it made some sense in context. As far as the fact that the Infernites sorta made him lava his butt in the first place, and he needed something to cool down. And while I agree that gags like those are very juvenile and dumb, that was one episode out of like, twenty. Some episodes (for instance, Mailman) are a lot better, and more fun. Though a full forum would definitely be too much, an actual (preferably official)  topic dedicated to discussing the shorts would be fair.
