Sergei Rahkmaninoff
IC: Vlad / Infirmary "Vait..." Vlad murmured as Drift stormed off. "No..." But she was gone. He had just lost her too. Back to being a loner. He shakily got to his feet, wrapping the Cloak of Umbra tightly around him, and suddenly felt a meager wave of nervousness wash over him. He looked to the nearest Turahk, Flabbergaster - who had apparently started a fight by blasting some poor guy by using his fear powers - with some mixture of disdain, disgust, and maybe pity. "Vhat in zer name of all zer light in zer vorld are you doink!?" he demanded, whipping out Avenger and thrusting it between them and activating it briefly while pressing his eyes shut. The resulting burst of light should really blind the both of them for a little while, and that should hopefully defuse their duel. "Vell, regardless, enough!" Onaku
IC: DormirahkLocation: Phantom-on-the-WaterThe village had looked to be in bad shape from the treeline, but it was only when Dormirahk walked through the rubble and ashes within the village itself that they truly realized how very much the village had been utterly annihilated. There was no matoran to save here. No heroics to be played. What Dormirahk walked through was a masterpiece of death. And they were but an observant. Dormirahk dropped to their knees and put their hands up to their head as they looked down at the earth and let out a yell of utter rage. Any shred of doubt was now gone from their mind. The Corpus Rahkshi was but a means to an end for the Makuta. Anyone going through its facilities was merely to be yet another of their living weapons. Death and destruction incarnate. That's all the Makuta saw in them. Any potential they claimed to see was merely a potential for even more destruction. Dormirahk's thoughts were all over the place for a moment... and then they became synchronized. They had seen this coming. They remembered now. A dream they had long forgotten, now came back in fragments. But they could not remember what came after. What succeeded the destruction? The death? No matter, they thought to themselves, as they stood up. Regardless of secretive visions of the future, Dormirahk knew they had to do something. They knew they couldn't be open about it. They had to play it secretively. Play it safe. They couldn't take any chances. Trust anyone... Well, Dormirahk thought they might have at least two or three they could confide in. And they had heard rumors. Rumors of those displeased with their 'Dark Overlords' the Makuta. Perhaps Dormirahk had more allies within the compound than they knew. But they couldn't risk finding out. For now, it was just them... and the two other rahkshi they had arrived with here on this fiasco of a rescue mission. *** -OOC: I'll make an intro post for Helkyre tomorrow. Or the day after... Wyrd Bid Ful Araed
IC: Grossh seemed to think on matter for a few moments. "It is true that I have my fingers in many assorted pastries, and would only need to call in a few favours and pull a few strings to get you placed somewhere in the city. The problem is that people would inevitably start asking questions. Rahkshi are not unusual around here, but they're servants acting on behalf of the Brotherhood. People see you walking round one of my foundries, for instance, and they're going to wonder why they never see you reporting back to a Makuta. Why you're never carrying messages or goods back to a master. People will make all manner of inquiries into which Makuta you work for, what manner of arrangement, deal or contract they have that has you so permanently placed. I could move you to another place if questions become interrogations, but its only a matter of time until it starts all over again. And thats assuming your escape stays quiet and the Brotherhood don't start squawking about you from every street corner. Then you'll be at even greater risk and I'm not sure I could keep you hidden. I am not much of a spy you see, I do not ferret around in dark corners for information and secrets. I just buy them like any other commodity. However..." He gave Kat and Era a most penetrating stare. You could imagine him giving the same look to a work of art, his eyes dissecting every facet and piece, applying price tags to everything from the atoms upwards. "...I do have certain associates. Friends you could say, as I do give them a discount on the stories I sell them. And these friends are very good at subterfuge. Very good indeed. I could reach out to them, put them in touch with you. If anyone can make you vanish, it is them." IC: Fog saw the door of the Headmaster's office begin to open, a fleeting impression of a dark maw creaking ajar in a dark and sideways smile before a fist shot out of that dark and cracked into the side of his face. The lethargic energies of the Slow power had prevented him from reacting properly to the strike, but they did not stop him crumpling to the ground like a broken puppet.Icarax emerged, following his fist and as spiky as before, the air rippling around him as more of his barely-constrained power tried to flow from his armour. After you were ignored the second time I assumed you might take the hint. The Makuta was still using telepathy rather than speech, and even at a decreased volume it gnawed and ground at Fog's brain, So I consider a third interruption to be insubordination. I have many details to take care of to properly install myself as Headmaster and I could not see to every last and little whim even if my time were not so diverted. You are a distraction. Begone. IC: Blindness had not destroyed Rider's sense of touch, and he felt a sudden iron grip on his neck that began to drag him off. Had he been able to see he would have been aware that this was Palma, and that she was carting not just him towards the infirmary but Flabbergaster as well, the Turahk's extra weight meaning nothing to her. Still, at least lack of sight prevented Rider from seeing the look of fury on her face. "I expect more than childish bickering from those under my care! I am very clear on this rule! I will not have the people I am trying to heal suffer further hurt because there are some individuals who can't seem to clear the aggression out of their veins for more than five seconds at a time!" With a flex of her arms she shoved her two prisoners forwards, pushing them well out of the infirmary's limits. Hands now free she retrieved her staff from its holdings, something in her stance making the iron wings of the caduceus look more...axe-like than they ever had before. "You have issues to work out? Fine. I can take it. Lets see if the pair of you feel any better after a few rounds with me, or if I have to cart you back in there with a few more breaks than before. Either way, you will not be hurting any more of my patients."

Reluctant, but compliant to Lucid's request, they scurried off of her, like water cascading from a giant robot emerging from the endless seas of an ocean moon. "Be good while I'm gone," she instructed not just the Rahi, but the entire realm. There were nods of agreement (from Rahi and, somehow, plant life) and as a parting gift Lucid gave her hand a wide flourish, luscious berries spouting out of it and falling to the ground for the Rahi to feast upon. Now she made her way to Sepulchral, placing her ring hand gently on his forehead once more. "Now, we depart," she declared mystically. Much like before, the world began to fade, slowly, into a soft and comfortable black. * * * IC: Lucid / Lucid's Cave Soon, though, the black receded, and the two Rahkshi were in the small cave once more, in the same positions they had been when they left. Sergei Rahkmaninoff
IC: Jayar / House of Grossh Jayar thought for a moment, contemplating the alternatives. If they didn't take Grossh's offer, they'd have to move on, headed for a peaceful existence somewhere in the Southern Islands. Somehow they'd have to find boats to take them between islands, no easy feat in itself, especially given that they had no money. Feeding themselves would present a similar problem. And sooner or later the Brotherhood would catch on, and move to either recapture or (if they managed to be troublesome enough) simply dispose of the fleeing Rahkshi. Altogether, it was just... infeasible. But did that make the other option any preferable? They could put their faith in some unnamed faction, and just hope it turned out okay. That they'd be treated not as things but people, that they'd get to do what they felt was right. If it turned out like that, it would be infinitely better than the above option... but if it didn't, if it was just the Academy again run by different people, it would be infinitely worse. And if they didn't like what they got, they surely wouldn't be allowed to simply walk away, not if the group was as secret as they were. They'd know too much. And running from one shadowy organization was hard enough, trying to escape the clutches of two would be closer to impossible than infeasible. So it became a gamble. Take the less risky but already difficult first option, or wager all on the double-or-nothing presented by the second. But there was always a third option. "If this organization is so secretive, I doubt anyone who enters will be allowed to leave," he said. "So only one of us should join, to begin with. Swear their oath of secrecy, or whatever, and examine this group from the inside. If they like what they see, they tell the rest of us, and we all join. If they don't, they'll still have to stay, but the rest never hear from them again and just move on." He paused, frowning, for the pragmatism was cruel. "While I hate the thought of potentially sacrificing someone... for the group as a whole, it's the best thing I can think of."
Nato G
IC: Era - House of Grossh. "Am I missing something here?" I cut in, giving Jayar what I hoped was a confused look. "Who said anything about joining them? Grossh said they might be willing to help us, not recruit us." Sergei Rahkmaninoff
IC: Jayar / House of Grossh "Well, perhaps joining was the wrong word. But it's implied they have some use for us, or they'd have no reason to dispense a 'finding fee' to our aureate friend," Jayar pointed out. "I don't think they'd pay Grossh just for the chance to transport a bunch of Rahkshi to the Southern Islands."
Nato G
IC: Era - House of Grossh. "Rahkshi that can talk," I pointed out, "Rahkshi that can tell them a lot of interesting things about the Brotherhood. We're pretty valuable, I'm sure..." Click
IC: Fang - Malebranche "Just a dream," Fang repeated softly. He wasn't sure whether to be furious or relieved. But before he could do something he would regret, he turned away to go back to his rest. IC: Rain - Infirmary There were so many reasons to put a knife in this guy's back. But even with Palma occupied, Rain didn't dare do it here. "We'll see about that," she snapped back. "Rematch. You and me. My 'boyfriend' won't be involved." She snarled the word, making it very clear what she thought about the insinuation. IC: Char - Hallways So far, so good. No cry of alarm or frantic footsteps. It seemed the two had turned off into another corridor. Char was tempted to follow them, but she knew it would be a fruitless gesture. They were on their guard now; she wouldn't be sneaking past them. And so Char decided it was time to eat something. She made her way towards the Refectory. Ghidora131
IC Flabbergaster Flabbergaster really wanted to do this "think" thing. And considering he wasn't being beaten up by a superbly powerful foe, he had a chance to. Why was this Rahk trying to kill his friend before, and shifting on/off of blind rage? Before I 'helped' make him stop... Kinda, then he weeps over his victim. That really ticked me off. What kind of an idiot is he; to be so- Uh-oh. While he had been in happy dreamland, the corner of the wall he had shattered had regrown... Over his arm. IC Doubt Doubt managed to slip into the library and find a spot, carefully not choosing the corner. He had been so kind to everyone before... Something biting at the back of his mind painfully... He grabbed a book off of the shelf, trying to ignore the fact that his hand encased the book entirely and he could barely turn the pages.OOC: Doubt open to interaction
