IC: Sohnii - interacting with Blink (Hallways)

Sohnii returned his brother's smile with one of his own. He didn't smile often, but if anyone deserved it, Blink certainly did. And Sohnii couldn't really help it, really. His twin brought out a side of him that no one else could. He hoped the smile might help to cheer his brother up a little, too. Blink was nervous, and although he would never admit it, Sohnii was too, but perhaps they could find comfort in one another. Sohnii kept close to him as they wandered the halls. The first time they came across an intersection, Sohnii paused, looked both ways, before turning to the left and continuing on his way. The second and third time, however, he realized there was no reason to consider their direction; neither of them knew this place, after all.

At Blink's realization, however, Sohnii stopped. He tilted his head thoughtfully. "I... hadn't considered it, but... you're right." He resumed walking, but turned back to glance at his brother. "We haven't seen anyone yet... I wonder where everyone is?" In the end, however, he simply shrugged. "I'm sure we'll meet some later... For the moment, I don't mind the solitude. We haven't been alone since... Since before father was..." He looked away, and changed the subject. "No, I'd like to unwind and gather my thoughts before I have to worry about the others..."

Indeed, Sohnii was in no rush to meet any of the other students. Was he intrigued by the idea of Rahkshi that thought independently just as he could? Certainly, but his interest did not expand past basic curiosity. The difference in the brothers' appearance was a good indicator of this... Blink had shined his armor, because he wanted to make a good first impression, but Sohnii had not. He wasn't here to impress his peers. He was here to protect his brother, get stronger, and serve the Brotherhood. Maybe he would make friends someday, but he didn't particularly care if the others liked him or not.

Blink didn't quite share that sentiment, however. As close as the brothers were, they were also very different.

IC: Carraig

"I am a Rahkshi of Limited Invulnerability." I say, looking to see how the two brothers would react. After all, there were probably quite a few students who thought I was just born lucky, and that any fight I win is just solely because of my powers.

IC: Dahl

This Chief fella intrigues me. I mean, usually when you're talking to someone, your third or fourth question isn't usually 'do you like to fight?' He might want a nice duel, or maybe some assistance in another area.

...

...

Or he could be making small talk you dimwit. Whatever the case, when I looked back, it was quite evident that food was on their mind. Oh, I m so sorry that I'm about to shatter your dreams of a pleasant meal. "Well, we're here." I say, stopping at the entrance to the Refectory. "The food ain't gonna be that good, but it's better than nothing. Besides, it'll give us a chance to talk." I still had a feeling that Chief was going to ask something from me.

IC: Mortsia

My frown becomes deeper. Why is she so interested in the God Twins? Is she going to join them? Is this another potential enemy?... Relax. It's probably just naivety. "They are definitely not... Nice. They killed another student. As to why they consider themselves gods..." I just shake my head.

IC: Shock

Well, I was pretty much all finished up with my cleaning. Sighing, I glance around the Refectory. I think that's as good as it's gonna get. With this strangely absurd rise in activity in here, I won't be able to do much else. I push the cart of cleaning supplies back into its closet, before approaching the Porter keeping me hostage here. "I'm done. So if you would kindly move, I would appreciate it." The Porter was hesitant to move, but after a couple moments, it moved aside, indicating I was free to go. "Thanks pal." I'm almost tempted to pat it on the head, giving it a nice shock, but I decided that I had gotten into enough trouble as it is. With that all done, I head to the Infirmary, to get all healed up, and then find that Turahk.

IC: Draco

I nod in agreeance, before turning around... Huh. I've seemed to have gathered an audience. One of the members was a young Rahkshi, his eyes bright with curiosity. I was a lot like that...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I look on in sheer amazement at the Rahkshi sparring against two others. "He's huge!" I say to my companion, Equis, excitedly. "I bet he's super strong!" Equis, the more reserved Rahk that he is, chuckles in amusement at my excitement. "That's Feris. He's definitely a site to behold." My blood starts to burn as I look on at him, before I turn back to my friend. For some reason, his size didn't scare me. On the contrary, it made me excited beyond belief. "I want to fight him! I bet I could take him!" "Whoa whoa whoa. What did you say?" Equis turns back to me, concern in his eyes. "You heard me." "Oh, I heard you. I just think that's a ridiculous thing to say." "What? Why?" My companion stares at me in disbelief. "You'd get pulverized. We all would. The only one who wouldn't might be Vitesse, and that's a big maybe. The rest of us..." Equis shakes his head. "We wouldn't last five seconds. There's a reason he's father's favorite."

As if to emphasize his point, one of the Rahkshi he was sparring against charged at him, eyes blazing as he slashed his broadsword at Feris' side. In a swift motion, Feris brought up his shield, blocking the slash with relative ease, before smiling cruelly at his attacker. In the next second, he was knocked on his back from getting hit with the shield, breathing heavily. I sigh. It was true. Compared to the last batch of intelligent Kraata, we were quite small, with the largest of us being only slightly above average. Myself? I was the runt of the group. I wasn't ridiculously small, but compared to Feris... All he would have to do would be to kick me, and I would go flying. "But still..." I try to protest. "Avem. Listen to me. Right now, you should set your goals lower. Just accept that you're not going to reach his level." Equis says sharply, then in a softer voice, "Let's go train with Stilio for now. Have some fun. Alright?" "...Alright." I say, resigned. Satisfied, Equis turns to leave. I am about to do the same, before I look back at Feris. He was talking with one of his companions, gesturing to his shield. That same fire starts to burn, and I clench my fist. I don't care what it takes. I will overcome him, and I will be the most powerful Rahkshi here. I won't stop until I achieve this goal, and go further beyond.

IC: Limon

Limon's stomach rumbled, and the eager and hungry Rahkshi flew over to the dispensers and grabbed a bowl on her way. She looked at the options with some disdain and selected the blander version, and upturned her nose as the gruel ran into the bowl in a chunky mess.

She sat down at a smaller table, reaching into her pockets and sprinkling a few different kinds of seeds into the mess. She took a hesitant spoonful and found it only slightly better than expected, but continued to eat it regardless.

I personally didn't grab any food, as I wasn't particularly hungry, and sludge didn't really stir my appetite. So instead, I just sat down, tapping my leg just to keep my hand moving. "So, while we're here, anything you want to know?"

"That would be a yes." I say, tapping on the table now. "All you have to do is claim one, and you're set!."

IC: Draco

I shake myself back to reality, as I hear the sounds of another fight going on. Turning, I see a dark purple Rahk combating against another Rahk, red and orange. Been a while since I've just watched a good fight. Might as well...

IC: Carraig

I shake my head.  "Not fully invincible, no. True, I can shrug off most blows from a sword, but any blunt weaponry will still mess me up. I can still be electrocuted, burned, frozen, and anything else like that."

I smile a little at Limon's enthusiasm. Truly infectious. "I actually don't know if they have pots, but I doubt it. You would probably have to either make it yourself... Or maybe make one out of a bucket. Prolly wouldn't look as nice, but it'd be the simple solution."

"Once a seed sprouts, yeah! I can't manipulate them, but I can make them grow super fast! I can also do the same to existing plants!" Limon hurriedly explained her abilities, bouncing slightly on the spot in a fit of excitement. Then she gasped loudly.

"Are there paints? Can I paint my room?!" Her small bounces turned into larger ones, and the Rahk's eyes gleamed.

IC- Blink, Interacting with Sohnii.

"Perhaps they're all at... A lesson? Out training?" Blink pondered with a tiny shrug. Would they be punished for missing a lesson, despite *just* enrolling and arriving at the academy? Surely not. He hoped not. It would be humiliating, embarrassing, and not a good firdt impression. He understood Sohnii's sentiments and to gather his thoughts before formally meeting another Rahkshi, though.

IC: Bliss

Bliss has just been escorted by her makuta to the school doors and left to enter alone. She gulps and nervously takes a deep breath to calm herself as she enters. She wonders where she should go from here as she was left little to no instructions. So she slowly starts walking through the halls, hoping to run into someone who could possibly give her directions.

IC: Sohnii - interacting with Blink and Bliss (Hallways)

Sohnii pondered his brother's question quietly with a tilted head.  "Hmm... I suppose that would make the most sense."  Sohnii agreed with a curt nod.  "Although, if that's the case... I'm a little disappointed that we're missing it... I think we both need time to settle in, but we're here for a reason."  The Brotherhood of Makuta weren't exactly his favorite beings in the universe, but that didn't change that fact that Sohnii wanted to prove himself a valuable asset to the organization he was now serving.  And he wanted to get stronger, so he could protect his brother.

Suddenly, the silver Rahkshi stopped, and stared at the wall.  "Wait... I'm pretty sure we passed this way before... we must have gotten turned around somehow." He growled under his breath.  "Remind me again why we didn't ask for a map before walking blindly into this stupid place?" Irritated, he turned the corner a bit too quickly, and nearly collided with the Rahkshi in front of him.  He blinked in surprise, and held back a remark.  Best not to lose his temper after arriving so soon...

So they had finally run into someone it seems -- almost literally.  Sohnii scanned the stranger from head to toe, and stood in front of Blink instinctively.  He waited patiently for a reaction; the two brothers had never seen another sentient Rahkshi before... he wasn't really sure what they would be like.  But he knew that Makuta could be both friendly or hostile, and it seemed logical to expect the same of others like him... He looked for signs of hostility, signs that this individual might not be trustworthy... or, fortunately, she would show signs of being a potential ally.  It all depended on her.  Taking a step back, Sohnii cleared his throat.  "Um... hello."  What was he supposed to say? He wasn't about to openly admit that they were lost... "Er... we're... new here.  You wouldn't happen to know where the dorms are, would you?"

Sohnii blinked... he couldn't remember talking to Blink or father being that awkward... oh well, it was a start.  Surely, he'd get used to it in time.

IC: Bliss - w/ Sohnii and Blink

Bliss practically freezes up upon the near collision, which had taken her by surprise. She steps back a bit and pushes her tail behind her with her foot, hoping they don't see it. She's a bit hesitant to answer the strangers, but it seems they are in the same situation. So she answers him quietly,
"...I...um..I'm new too. And, uh...I'm actually kinda lost."

She refrains from making much eye contact while speaking.

IC: Sohnii - interacting with Blink and Bliss (Hallways)

There was something about the way she spoke, the look at her eye as she avoided his gaze that seemed oddly familiar to Sohnii.  It took him a moment to realize why... whoever she was, she reminded him a lot of his brother, Blink... or maybe he was just looking for familiarity in this new environment? If she was indeed like Blink, however, maybe it had been wise to refrain from uttering any harsh remarks at their near collision.  Sohnii wasn't the softest of Rahkshi, at least not on a normal day.  But he could try to be, if it would help avoid any conflict.  Sohnii was stern, but he was not cruel.  If there was one thing his brother had taught him, it was how to be gentle, when the time called for it.

Sohnii tried to smile, hoping it might help her feel less nervous... it worked on Blink sometimes.  "Oh, uh... that's good to hear."  he replied, before quickly correcting himself.  "Um, I mean, it's not good that you're lost, but... it's nice to know that we're not the only new students.  Although, truth be told, we're... we're kinda lost too."  There, he admitted it, although only because she did first.  Without really thinking, he added,  "Maybe... maybe we could walk together.  Then at least you wouldn't be lost alone.  Three heads are better than one."  He glanced at his brother for a sign of approval.  "If that's alright with you?"

He turned back to the stranger.  "Only if you want to, of course."  He didn't want to make either Blink nor her feel uncomfortable after all.  Come to think of it... he hadn't been real eager to meet other students in the first place.  But they were all new here, and her familiarity to Blink made him feel a bit more comfortable, so he supposed it would be okay for the moment.  He had a feeling that wouldn't be the case with all of the students...

IC: Chief - Thinking

Tick tock. My mind began running into gear, an idea sprouted in my head.

If the school cafeteria food was so unpleasant, perhaps I could do my part to make it more...edible, so to speak.

However, Limon had asked a question. "Heard there was some place nearby that had some paints stocked. Might be worth goin for a look-see."

IC- Blink, Interacting with Sohnii and Bliss.

When the duo passed familiar halls, there was a faint pondering hum from the skittish brother, then an amused chuckle at the mentions of a map. He probably should've been drawing down the layout of similar-looking hallways and corners. How did anyone manage to find their way around this maze-like complex?

"Oh-" Just as Sohnii sharply turned the next corner, Blink registered the noise of someone--something slowly walking.

They had almost walked straight into a fellow Rahkshi! Blink's reaction to profusely apologize bubbled up, but no words left him. There was a nagging feeling to whip around and walk in the other direction, but he didn't. Torn between his roaring fear and pure curiosity, Blink briskly scanned the stranger from head-to-toe. Puzzled and taken aback at seeing another Rahkshi. Was that a flower? Oh my, it was!

She was new? *New*. She was a new student. It took a moment to grasp those words. She was lost as well. Not what he wanted to hear but that's okay. Too many thoughts furiously raced through his mind. After several seconds he steadily nodded to his brother. Certainly, the three of them could find their way around this confusing establishment!

IC: Chief - Curious

The location I just mentioned was apparently a former Matoran stash. They'd often use it to hide paints and the sort, but from what I could tell on the way up, and from my buddy's information on the outside, the Matoran village that it corresponded to had been completely razed. Even more interesting, by students of the school.

The school had already begun to be militarized. My makuta hadn't told me about this. Though, maybe he just didn't care.

It's dangerous business, all this. Following the Makuta's orders like old breeds just isn't what we should have been about.

I spooned a last mouthful of slop into my mouth, before putting both arms behind my head, relaxing. "Well, I'm finished. I can show you the place, if you want."

IC: Chief - Contemplation

In some of the few books I'd read that were written about the Toa, they'd sometimes describe "raising an eyebrow" when they were shocked or surprised.

I guess I could say my Kraata raised an eyebrow at Limon's behavior.

She was weird, definitely. But real enthusiasm is admirable. In fact, it's one of my favorite traits.

I gave Dahl a look, to see if he was ready to go.

IC: Sohni - interacting with Blink and Bliss (Hallways)

He was satisfied with Blink's answer.  The stranger's... not so much, but she could always change her mind, after all.  It was then that he noticed the flower on her head... another thing she and his brother had in common.  Sohnii glanced at the flower crown on his brother's own head and tried not to smile.  He wondered when Blink would make that connection, if he hadn't already.  He might just point it out himself if Blink didn't first...

He turned back to the brown and green Rahkshi and nodded.  "So, uh... I guess we should exchange names."  That's what you're supposed to do when you meet someone... right? "Um... it's Sohnii.  What's yours?"

He was still feeling a little awkward, and it was probably quite evident in his body language, particularly his flattened spikes and lowered head.  Oh well.  He figured it was best to get the introductions out of the way before they started walking again, as this new Rahkshi probably did not want to be referred to as 'you there' or whatever other generic term he could come up with.

Personally, I wasn't the most thrilled about this whole situation. I knew that the best place to get paint was somewhere the mainland, and it wasn't exactly the safest place for a Rahkshi to travel. But on the other hand, I had never been personally, so it would be a good experience, and with three Rahkshi travelling there, It would at least be somewhat safer. So, I simply shrug. "If you're ready."

GM IC Reach:

There was silence for a tense few seconds before Peek let out a terse, "Checks out."

The Adaptation Rahkshi blew out a long breath, one filled with frustration. "You're lucky we have a mind reader, Makuta only knows I'd throw you out on your ridiculous looking behinds, otherwise. He gave a quick signal, and his compatriots' weapons vanished as quickly as they'd been brought out. "Get her up then....let's go tell the rest of your group." He stepped back out of the small room, and started back up and out of the building.

IC Fletch:

"Easy now, try to relax. I got steady hands, you'll be patched up and away from me in no time." The archer spoke as soothingly as could be managed, given the circumstances. He looked over at Fang as he paused working on Shield for a moment, "I'd like to take a look at that shoulder of yours, next if you feel up to it."

IC Grim:

"Take the one with no spines, I will deal with the poisoner." Grim spoke simply, before leaping down from atop the roof, mace drawn and coming down in an overhand blow as they fell upon their chosen prey: Garrote.

IC Percy:

The Young Dodgerahk's grin became even wider, if possible, even as Vlad's hit landed solidly into his gut, knocking him back a step. He never stopped moving, however, coming back in with his blade tracing a line diagonally upward from Vlad's Axe-side leg and up across his chest. "None whatsoever!" he cried.

IC Aza:

"I don't...want ...your help!" Aza struggled to spit, but inside she was quite glad to let Kororia take some of the attention off of her.  As expected, the timid Mind Reader had been useless, save for keeping one of their opponents busy for a short time.

IC Ezec:

The Kraata of White Destruction, in the meantime, had opted to try getting up Rail's rocky form, in an effort to slow him or at least distract him in some fashion. Part of him was quite enthused by the challenges being so limited in form posed, while the greater part of his mind seethed at how low he'd been made and how useless the slug body was.

IC Zas'ma:

The conniving Hunger rahkshi opted to wait to see how Rail would handle being outnumbered as he was. It was a situation she herself had not quite figured out how to deal with without simply fleeing. Now was a perfect time to observe and learn.

IC: Vlad / Gym Maze

Wasn't the kid even a bit winded? It was occurring to Vlad that he should have stowed his whip, against a Dodgerahk it would be far worse than a grabbing hand. Too late for that though, so he simply dropped it, and as the sword swung toward him he threw himself toward Percy, spinning counterclockwise so he could slam his right shoulder into his opponent's left and reach across to grab Percy's right wrist with his free right hand. The more entangled they got, the better - as much as he hated to do it, he would use any substantial contact to begin draining Percy's energy. Or he kept telling himself he hated to do it, anyway.

Fang turned further away, looking over his shoulder with one burning eye. "It's just a scratch."

IC: Garrotte - Gym Maze (Team 2)

Garrotte was just starting to turn around when something heavy and sharp smashed her to her knees with a fresh puncture or two through her Kraata case. The shock was enough to activate the slime oozing around in there, quickly hardening around the mace and her wounds.

Hissing a little in pain, Garrotte looked back to see her attacker's legs and struck at them with her short sword.

Reda skid to a stop just on the edge of Vigilem's reach, crouching to avoid the blade. Then she dove in again with her dagger, striking for her foe's tangled legs.
