I didn't think that Roman would make another Hoto. I'm interested to see how they interact, I guess.

Well, Era hasn't been approved yet, so don't start planning too much in advance. That said, it would be very interesting, considering they've both got very different ways of dealing with their blindness.

You just happen to miss all the good stuff, don't you? Everyone in this RPG just needs to stop eating, sleeping, attending social gatherings, school, and work, and just focus on the important things. :P

In other news, Fang is just as crazy and paranoid as Exxan. Not that I ever said he wasn't.

You just really came up at a bad time. Fang was getting suspicious of all this sudden activity around him, and suddenly Bullseye appears. If it was approached more carefully, it could work, but Fang is a touchy guy to work with. One moment he's best of friends, the next he's trying to kill you.

Isn't that right, VahkiDane? :D

Just that Rider really shouldn't have said anything. :D To Fang's understanding of Phogen's plans, this fits perfectly. All the Rahkshi running around, trying to join him, drawing his suspicion, and suddenly she slips in Omega, a previous ally who has every reason to not follow her, but still holds loyalties.

In fact, I'm disappointed Phogen didn't come up with it, not that she would really care about keeping tabs on Fang.

Flash (aah-aaah!) Rahkon and Era are both approved

Yay! Approval!

In other news, Fang is just as crazy and paranoid as Exxan.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, Exxan is not paranoid. All of his fears are completely legitimate ones.

Exxan has a lot more authority than he knows.

This is what makes him such an interesting character to write. He didn't want authority. He didn't even try to get it. Now he has it, and has no idea what to do with it. He's actually a very challenging character to write.

 What's happening between Fang/Exann/Phoegen?

Disagreement of beliefs. Fang's still butthurt about the asskicking Exxan and The Twins gave him during the Naming Day assignment. He thinks they and their friends - with Phogen as the ringleader - are basically wasting all of their potential by trying to win Tridax's approval, and that the new gen Rahkshi should be doing better things with their lives. Basically, Fang has pinned everything he hates about Corpus Rahkshi and the Brotherhood of Makuta onto Exxan and Phogen.

Looks like we beat Ko-Wahi today at some point. Probably during Fang's rant.

Designation: Mantis.

Variation: Insect control.

Level: 2.

Gender: Masculine.

Pets: Insects, considered ‘companions’.

Gear: Two small scythes lined with minuscule spines that can flick open or closed in the blink of an eye.

Armor Appearance: Lime green and purple armor. Two sensitive antenna-like things protruding from top of faceplate. Five eyes.

Kraata Appearance: Bright neon pink with metallic ripples. Has small mandibles.

Personality: Quiet, calm, and quick. Keeps to the shadows and is antisocial. Fears others will discover the appearance of his Kraata. Doesn’t understand the behavior of other Rahkshi. Skilled and silent fighter. Has an unbreakable moral code of honor. Specializes in noise-less stealth. Five eyes often provide confusion and disorientation- may be considered a defect. Considers all insects friends.

Bio: Soon upon arriving at Corpus Rahkshi, Mantis became familiar with his surroundings, mostly by silently stalking around the different rooms. He didn't really meet anyone else, though, and mostly stuck to either the gym or his dorm. The only thing he ever really did was either practice in the gym or confer with his insect friends. He spent whatever time he had left trying to learn to focus so his five eyes didn't get in the way of his stealth training.

“Light a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day...Light a man on fire, and you keep him warm for the rest of his life!”

Full Name: Torch

Gender: Male Variation: Fire Resistance Level: 2

Equipment:

  • 'Fire-thrower' - a weapon capable of expelling flame at ranges up to thirty feet. With a lever on the side, the amount of focus the flame has can be adjusted: at the lowest setting, it sprays fire outwards in a "V" shape almost 90° wide (but with a more limited range), while at its highest, it emits a focused beam of searing heat capable of softening metal in seconds

  • A lighter, a flint on a cord at his waist and a scrap of embossed metal

  • A metal mace with a handle a metre long and a roughly spherical, semi-spiked head

Powers:

  • Can endure heat equivalent to that which a Ta-Matoran can bear

Physical characteristics:

Torch is average height, standing at roughly 9.5 feet tall,  with charred and blackened armour, upon which peeling red and orange paint has been crudely smeared. His spines are straight and sword-like and, as with his sharp claws, are light silver. His wide eyes and heartlight are burning orange. Torch is quite strong, and fairly agile.

Weakness: Torch has little melee and hand-to-hand training, relying on ranged weapons.

Mental characteristics:

Torch can seem detached and distant at times, and is somewhat naive while having strong, emotional and even violent reactions and ideas at times. He doesn't have much preservation instinct and doesn't make calculated decisions, preferring to go with gut feeling (a notion which extents to his pyromaniacal tendencies). He is usually not easily bored, and is happy watching the days go by when in his element.

Weakness: Torch isn’t always rational, getting himself into unnecessary danger.

Biography:

Torch arrived at the school soon after its inception, but was immediately imprisoned for starting fires on Nynrah. After his release, he participated in the Choose Your Own Adventure Assignment, as well as becoming notorious for a series of pyromaniacal attacks on the school.

Allegiances: None

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Well, I would have said it differently, but that's pretty close.

Which rant? :P

Also, Hoto is talking to Era in the gym.

 Which rant?  :P

The paranoid one where he got all angry and started accusing everyone of being spies for Exxan.

Despite the fact that spying is not Exxan's style.

Oh yeah, that one. :D

He's just a little overly suspicious because before he confronted Exxan, everyone hated him (as far as he knew), and he was just one. Now, all of the sudden, Rahkshi are approaching him from everywhere, trying to join him. He's never met them, has no idea of their standings, or if they're sincere or not. They only know him as a crazy Rahkshi who was ranting in the halls about freedom and such. Basically, he doesn't get it, and he's trying to play on the safe side by attacking everyone who comes near him. Somehow that works in his mind.

Exxan felt pretty much the same way when random people kept trying to pick sides in the stupid argument between him and Fang.

Also, posted as Era. Sorry, I must've missed your earlier Hoto post.

People are making exotic Rahkshi, so I'd thought I make one for myself.

This guy definitely has no relation to Transformers. At all.

He also has two personalities.

Name: Punch/Counterpunch/Uppercut
Variation: Dodge
Level: 3
Gender: Male/Male/Uppercut
Gear:

The blades usually retract and is never used when he is Punch.

Counterpunch definitely uses them.

Uppercut will not use the blades.

  • A pair of tonfa (exclusive to Uppercut, he will collect when he returns)

Skills: Boxing, Kickboxing, Minor Deception and Minor Spying (as Counterpunch), Using tonfa (will be learned by Uppercut when he gets back.)
Appearance: He is tall and his armor is red and silver. His eye color changes from red as Punch to blue as Counterpunch. As Uppercut, he has green eyes.
Personality: As Punch, he is kind, trustworthy, and sociable. He fights fair and honorably. As Counterpunch, he is harsh at times, deceitful, and very anti-social. Don't fight him as Counterpunch, cuz' he cheats. Both often thinks to themselves a lot, but no one actually knows that they are actually communicating with the other personality. They both are cool with the other, but sometimes have arguments over trivial matters.

As of the CTF game on Visorak, Uppercut has been created due to the guilt Punch had, but did not show, when he was told that he was a reason why Root died. As such, Uppercut is slightly more heroic that either of two. Where Counter is more of neutral evil and Punch is neutral good, Uppercut is good in general. He is fun-loving and adventure seeking.

Bio: Punch was born on another island and had a personality defect. Originally the two personalities wanted to have seperate bodies and their inner battles caused a lot of stress and unrational anger. When on the island of Nynrah, he met Stronghold who taught them boxing and kickboxing in order to the two to relieve stress. They eventually get along and become good friends, besides their conflicting personalities. When Counterpunch found a way to cheat and added retractable hidden blades in the gauntlets, Punch isn't bothered with it, but warns Counterpunch to never show Stronghold. Punch is aware of his second personality. Punch and Counterpunch still hate the Makuta for not helping them split their personalities into two bodies, so they wants to rebel against them someday. At this time, they decides to stick together because Counterpunch's personality provides a cover for his hatred.
When Punch and Counterpunch was on Nynrah, they accidentally had a hand in Root's death, and the guilt that stemmed resulted from that created a new personality: Uppercut.

Ah... I know we've got some slightly unusual Rahkshi, but Counter/Punch seems a little too weird. How exactly does the armour colour change thingy work? And what does it mean when you say he becomes more Toa-like?

So would Punch be a good recruit for Depths of the Abyss? Also, Click, could Hoto teach Abyssium the echolocation at some point? If it's true that Darkness Rahkshi blind themselves and cannot see in the dark, (which is stupid) a skill like that would be extremely useful.

I'm not sure echolocation is a skill that can easily be taught to Rahkshi without sonic-based powers.

It would be difficult, that is true. Hoto and Era learned it out of necessity. Without some way of navigating, they would be lost. They don't know any other way. Teaching it to someone else who has no need of it (as in they will survive without it) is difficult.

I'd argue that it would be impossible, from the perspective of fairness. If Rahkshi who can see suddenly all started learning echolocation, it would be very OP. Because Era is only at level two, I've limited her "sight" to only be able to clearly define things that are within melee range. The further away something is, the more indistinct it becomes.
