As the game goes on, I feel like Hoto is closer to a sister than a lover. Just opening up the option. I kind of figured just the two of them, alone on Nynrah would lead to some kind of... connection. That is, unless they get attacked by Matoran. Before, we had up to seven Rahkshi in one place at one time, now it's just two. That's just asking for it.
