The Scientist - BFTGM

I decided to submit another entry, something unlike all the hulking brutes: A svelte scientist. He's responsible for the creation of the Skull Spiders and any other "rahi" found on Okoto. Basically, he takes the role that the Makuta of the Matoran Universe had.

 

 

I was going for the appearance of wearing gloves and boots, hence the all-black lower limbs:

This is pretty cool. I like how you used black to create a look of boots and gloves, although I don't understand what the black socket joint just below the neck is for. The Akaku lends itself well to being a scientist's face, with the scope eliminating the need for him to have a separate microscope. The best part is the concept of a scientist instead of a 'hulking brute,'as you put it. Good job!

The black socket joint was to break up the white of the torso and the white Akaku. Without it, they both kind of blend together. And thanks!

Nice work on the slim custom torso. It's too bad that the beams on the thighs are not white, unless their being black has significance that I'm missing...

I'd say, though, that the gloves and boots are definitely noticeable. Perhaps the black y-joint on the body is a cravat, for a fashionable mad scientist.

A pretty simple build, but that doesn't detract from the MOC's appearance. You've created a nice look that works, not to mention the posing you've done gives off a scientist feel. Good job.

I have been waiting for such a long time for a scientist; you have not disappointed me. Svelte is certainly an apt description; I love the simplicity, the gloves. The only thing that I find breaks it up is the thighs; the use of the black connectors (understandable, though, as those pieces are hard to find in white), and, more so, they seem too thin to me.

This is a great looking MOC, the body are pretty good like that you used the Metru feet, mask fits well and the legs are nice but the arms do look like they need some work and the hands aren't that good with that 4th finger.
