He's recently camouflaged himself as a black warrior when he noticed the fall of the once unstoppable Skrall Empire, so he chose black as a celebration since he was no longer bound to fight for Tajun. Unfortunately there are very few black glatorian masks and i never purchased any skrall sets, so my reason for the black nuva armor (from a 2003 lego hockey set) is that he prefers not looking directly when speaking and only reveals his scarred face to those he trusts but he isn't blind since he has developed great combat skills from studying Vorox animalistic behaviour and by studying old tales of how the fallen tribe of Vorox once fought in the arena. His newfound power is a cursed fire type amaterasu which in japanese legends is a black fire which water cannot extinguish and it keeps burning with great intensity until his target is eliminated if he desires so. Also, Amaterasu originally was the name of Japan's sun goddess...
