Favorite Bionicle Mahri set?

There hasn't really been that much talk about the Mahri sets, so why not start a discussion?                             |

I'm going to say I like Nuparu the best out of all the sets, simply because of his mask and overall epicness.

What about you? It can be any set, toa, barraki, small or big. Any Mahri set to be honest.

Note: I added the claw to Nuparu so it looks a bit better  :)

I liked Hahli's winged humanoid build, disliked her mask and flimsiness.

Takadox is my favourite Barraki, because I like praying mantises.

Jaller is my favourite Toa Mahri, because unlike the others his mask was actually a better design than his Inika Kanohi, and the little Hahnah crab was cute. His sword is one of the better weapon pieces. I never quite got how Hahli's claw made an effective weapon...

Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot

I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line...

I really like Takadox, he has a lot of character what with the hunched posture and sort of skeletal appearance. Maxilos and Spinax were great for parts, but I don't really remember what the set was like. None of the Toa really stuck with me though, I guess I liked Hahli the most because of the wings, and also because it's Hahli.

Toa: Probably Jaller. I thought his overall look was great and his Mask looked cool too.

Barracki: Carapar. I liked his character in the storyline and he had a great set IMO.

Titan Set: Either Hydraxon or Nocturn.

At least as far as Toa go, I like Jaller's color scheme, mask, sword, and chest armor, but I have to admit that Nuparu's shield, armor, color scheme, and mask are awesome.

Outside of the Toa, I like Nocturn a lot. 4 arms, glow-in-the-dark, lime green, what's not to love?

Toa: Hewkii Mahri. I seem to be in the vast minority; I absolutely love his mask, his asymmetry is cool, the chains rock, and I dig the way he holds the Cordak blaster. He was also my first Toa Mahri, and the one I was most excited about.

Barraki: Probably Ehlek, although Pridak is a close second. I like Pridak because he's so...sickening, especially his face, and his unique parts - the feet and weapons - were extremely nice pieces. I prefer Ehlek, however, because he was my first Barraki, and he's so unique with his hunched torso, close shoulders, spikes, and claws.

And it's so hard to choose a favorite titan, they were all so outstanding that year...my favorites were Hydraxon and Maxilos & Spinax. I suppose Hydraxon is my favorite over all, mostly because of his mask and weapon.

The only set I didn't like that year was Kongu. I wish he had a weapon, and his mask wasn't that interesting (although the fluorescent green contraption on his head was cool). And although I never owned him, Kharzani looked rather ugly IMO.

Maxilos and Spinax is my favorite set from that year. Maxilos has such a fantastic design that one would more expect to find in a BBCC-winning MOC than in a official set. Spinax is also a great complement.

Of the Toa Mahri, Hahli is my favorite. The Faxon is one of my favorite mask designs, and I like the blue and lime green color scheme. There weren't any awkward parts on her either; she was rather well streamlined compared to the other Toa Mahri. Simple, but no bare or weird limbs.

As far as the sets go;

Nocturn wins 2007 for me :)

Baraki: (exempting Nocturn): it would have to be either Ehlek (positives: face/head, spindly body in an interesting way, colouration) or Carapar (positives: not spindly, nice claw, consistent colouration; ??? head looks cool-bad)

Titans: (exempting Nocturn): it would be Karzahni (many pieces of interest, & monstrous).

Toa Mahri: I think Hahli (+side wings, -side weapon, & the colour scheme seems eh) & Matoro (+side asymmetry that worked & weapon, -side spindly & kinda stretched) would be the ones I disliked the least.

Oh & the Hydruka were way better than the Mahri Nui Matoran.

2007 was a great year for sets! All of them were pretty solid. The small set line changed things up by having two well-built Matoran and two Hydruka, which had an intriguing design.

The Barraki were great because of how unique each were. My personal favourite was either Mantax or Pridak, both having very different builds than the accustomed Inika/Piraka design.

The Mahri themselves are also notable for trying new ideas, and while some were very successful, others were not my favourite (Hewkii Mahri comes to mind). I did really like Jaller Mahri and Matoro overall, as well as Hahli for the fins and colour scheme. Add the tall amphibious Nuparu and the short, bulky Kongu and you get one of the most diverse Toa teams ever.

Even the titans were great! Hydraxon looked awesome, Nocturn was simple but excellently designed, Gadunka had a pretty complex design with a nice undersea creature look, and Maxilos and Spinax had a build I have never experienced before. Even Karzahni and Lesovikk had some very intriguing and complex designs that while I never got the chance to build, seemed very fun and engaging.

Overall, my favourite Mahri-era set had to be Maxilos and Spinax. Looks menacing, very original torso design with the articulation and the awesome use of the Vezon head/Mask of Life.

Really, the only problem with 2007 was the poor quality of the lime green pieces. The year as a whole for sets was extremely solid.

Toa: Hahli for sure.

Barraki: Definitely Takadox

Titan: If Toa Lesivikk doesn't count, i'd have to say Nocturn.
