Toa Mangai of Ice Kanohi Poll

Greg said that there can be polls for all the Toa Mangai. I supposed it would be best to start with the Toa of Ice, because then we can kill four birds with one stone. Multiple votes are allowed. The top 4 votes will be masks of the four Toa Mangai of Ice.

 

I'll be leaving the Mask of Rahi Control, because in the end it has to be taken to Greg, if Greg doesn't like them having the mask he will say no, then we can give him the runner ups.

 

I'll personally be voting for the Mask of Conjuring, because of how awesome it is. You can basically pick a power and a  weakness and use that said power for 15 minutes. 

 

I'll also be voting for the Kanohi Iden, because I think that one of the Toa Mangai would be useful as a scout.

 

I'll also be voting for the Kanohi Kaukau. I'd like for atleast one 2001 mask to win because then I would have a reason to buy those different coloured masks. Also it would be cool for a Toa of Ice to have one of those. Imagine him swimming in an arctic ocean type area.

 

My final vote will be for the Kanohi Rode.

Hmm. So should there be a separate poll to see if people want this to be identified, or should there be an option here that says, "I don't want the mask to be identified"?

 Because of the fact that this team was organized by Turaga Dume due to the Dark Hunters wanting to build a base on Metru Nui, I picked masks relating to that possibility. 

 

Matatu - For tearing down structures, in case they managed to begin construction. 

 

Pakari - Fighting Dark Hunters is hard work. He's going to need a boost in strength.

 

Calix - It's always handy to have around, especially during combat. 

 

Mask of Conjuring - It's very adaptable, and the Dark Hunters have very different powers. (And no, this was chosen on my own accord, not because Boidoh said so.)

What I don't get is why people don't want to know what their masks were. I certainly don't have a problem with it, to me it only makes the Gen 1 canon better. It fills in the holes, it solves the questions. What's not to love about that?

What I don't get is why people don't want to know what their masks were. I certainly don't have a problem with it, to me it only makes the Gen 1 canon better. It fills in the holes, it solves the questions. What's not to love about that?

Don't misunderstand, I would like to see the Toa have Kanohi too! However, the debate has been heated in 3-4 topics, and I think we should just get everyones opinion before continuing. That way people can't complain on the fact that they were never asked if they want this to be known or not.

All I want is not to rush things, which has been done a lot the past week.

I just made a topic about that, you can take it there, cast your vote and so on.

I was tempted to vote for every mask, but I think that a Kaukau would quite compelling. After all, everyone needs to be able to breathe in a substance that you can freeze solid amirite?

No it wouldn't because that throws off the statistical results. If you have let's say 10 people that want there to be a Kanohi, but they all vote for different ones, that skews the results A LOT, while the 8 who voted for not having a Kanohi would only have one option to vote for only. With the poll I created it organizes things a little bit better and allows for solidification on the issue.

Still, it makes it easier for reference. If someone says " oh how did this become canon it's stupid I don't like it hur dur" you can just point them in the direction of the poll that decided if we should vote for the masks.

 

Also I don't like this topic since I think we should determine who wore the Kakama first, and even though there was a topic discussing weather we should hold that poll first, you ignored it more or less and made this.

...Except because radio buttons aren't used, a person could vote for any number of Kanohi and the unknown option as well. This would very much skew the results away from "unknown."

I think the issue of who wore the Kakama needs to be settled first. Otherwise we are arbitrarily forced into not having a Toa of Ice with a Kakama in a sense, and are required to make one of the last three be one. This seems to be headed for contradiction-lands real fast.

Calix- it makes sense to have some luck when fighting a dragon

Sanok- it'd be cool to have a Toa have perfect acxuracy for firing ice daggers, both fighting the dragon and DH

Kadin- flying Ice Toa fighting a fire dragon, just seems appropriate.

Emulation- i think it's the less OP version of conjuring, and it makes sense if in a confilct with a DH

 

EDIT: I would advise that you don't do two polls at the same time. It rushes things and can be confusing.

     There are a lot of agruments about it in a couple of other threads on S&T lately, I suggest you take a look at those. It seems to be that it's cramming a dead storyline with unnessecary details, some of which adversely affect their headcanon.

     I personally think that there does need to be an 'unspecified' or 'I don't want it known' option on these polls. As to how to do this, I suggest a separate question on the poll: 'Do you want these Kanohi specified, or not?' with only two mutually exclusive answers: yes and no. If no wins, then we disregard the Kanohi choices and canonize nothing.

     I was presenting what others seem to think (and not nearly as eloquently as they), not nessecarlily what I think. I actually really like the Kanohi polls. (Weapon is pushing it though.)

While that is theoretically possible, it's also rather boring, at least to my tastes.

1) Conjuring, for reasons explained in the Bo-Toa's topic.

 

2) Miru, because it's one of the coolest mask designs and I'd like to see another Toa with that power. Ice plus Levitation could be really awesome.

 

3) Kaukau, because having a Ko-Toa who can breathe underwater, since ice tends to cover liquid water, could make a lot of sense and provide for some awesome story potential, plus they ended up trapping the frozen Kanohi Dragon underwater, so it seems to me that at least one of the Ko-Toa almost certainly has to have this mask.

 

4) Rode... no real major reason, just one of the cooler designs I'd like to see on a canon Toa's face.

1) Conjuring - Why not? A fine power for a Toa of Ice to have, and comes with the territory of studious Ice guy. 

 

2) Rahi Control - Since last poll didn't give it fair shake, I feel the need to vote for it this time. 

 

3) Calix - generally useful. 

 

4) Garai - good for pinning down nasty dragon.

Maybe I've got this scattered, but I think frozen underwater is where Vezok/Reidak/Avak got it from, and then the Mangai refroze it and took it to Xia, where it then made another mess in Gali Nuva Blog and Dwellers in Darkness. 

 

In any case, I think Toa Naho could help with the water if need be.
