Archon~
So, does anyone remember Into the Darkness? That serial when Matoro and Teridax formed a dynamic duo and revived the body of dead alt-Tuyet? You know, the one where the (fake) Nui Stone made an appearance again? Anyway, to refresh some memories for some people, Teridax basically had Icarax deliver the Staff of Artakha to him so he could create, what he believed to be, the Nui Stone. My question is a simple one: Why?Why did he need the Nui Stone or the Staff? If I remember correctly, he was about to become the Great Spirit, so why was he so angry and flustered when the staff was taken away from him if the Order was going to use it to help repair the universe anyway? Is this just a case of Greg doesn't seem to plan his serials, or am I actually missing something here that might shed light on this issue? 2 Quote Archon *** "For one to truly feel alive, the person must kill oneself a little bit each and every day." fishers64
Teridax didn't want a Toa, Tuyet or otherwise, to get their hands on the Nui Stone. As the Dark Mirror serial illustrates, that would be a severe threat to his power and control. He also needed to appear that he was trying to avoid the Toa awakening/reviving Mata Nui. Taking the Staff, which the Toa Nuva badly needed to get to the Order in order to repair the robot, would appear to further that objective and prevent his opponents from believing the truth. Archon~
Okay the second part makes sense, seeing that he is pretty deceitful, but how would a Toa of any kind get their hand on shattered rock fragments that were outside of the universe? And I imagine none of the 7 Toa present in that area were even aware of Tuyet's body nor the Nui Stone being there... The 1st Shadow
There was another reason: He wanted Ahkmou to become a Toa of Shadow, and serve the Brotherhood. A Toa of Shadow with all that built-up toa energy harvested by the stone... Teridax would have the perfect servant. 2 Quote ~Your friendly, neighborhood Shadow ~Credit for Avatar and Banner goes to NickonAquaMagna~
Click
Because good old Terry makes the Great Beings look like over attentive third graders. If he failed to take over the universe, he had to have a back up plan, and a back up plan for that back up plan's back up plan. Plus, having sole control of a stone that siphons Toa Energy sounds useful, and the Staff of Artahka is pretty powerful. Maybe a dictator would never use a nuclear warhead, but that doesn't mean he'd leave it around for someone else to use on him.
