But can't they channel their elemental powers through their Toa Tools?

Hey that's very nice! Kudos to the folks who recorded this, and also the guys who made it I guess :P

I prefer conventional weapon use to the projectile mode shown at the end but I guess it's a way of somewhat subtly suggesting ways to play with the sets to it's target audience. After all, guns beat swords in today's action figure market place I think!

Very interesting indeed! The laser light show from the Toa seemed out of place though; seems kind of cliche too imo. *Pew!* *Pew!*

I don't like the laser sound effects, but the visuals are just fine for elemental powers. And the final broadcast version of the ad will probably have a voiceover over top anyway so it might not be quite so noticeable then.

The animation is very cool in general, but I'm glad the story episodes are going for a more cartoony, expressive style. Set-accurate CGI is all well and good for a commercial for the sets, but in the story videos we've already seen things like the adorable junior villager of fire, Tahu's crazy Skull Spider smackdown in his character video, and the Lord of Skull Spiders' angry hissing that might not have looked nearly so cool in CGI.

Oh my, I hadn't realized how much I missed Bionicle commercials until I watched this! I'm so happy to see such an epic return. :'D

I agree the lasers give an out-of-place Star Wars vibe, but meh, this isn't the first time there's a non-canon odd detail in a commercial.

The laser sounds don't actually bother me that much, now that I've seen the commercial around twenty times on YouTube.  B-) I haven't spotted it on television and I don't think I ever will with the current setup.

Even without narration, I think I favor this commercial over a lot of the ones shown in Bionicle's original run.

These lasers are getting too much attention IMO. I'm pretty sure they're just there to make things exciting for the kids as, after all, that's who they're advertising to! Toys with swords are ok but kids love lasers. Everything has lasers now... Lord of the rings has a great following right now thanks to the Hobbit trilogy but I bet there are a load of Gandalfs out there whose spelld sound just like lazors in the hands of today's kids :P...

Awesome commercial. Always loved the CG videos, this one is definitely really great and also feels cartoonish at the same time, which fits the aesthetic of the webisodes. Kopaka, Lewa, and Tahu kicking Skull-Spider butt looked way too cool, though I wish Gali, Onua, and Pohatu would get their own 30 second ad.

Overall awesome to see the return of CG toy ads. :) Definitely brought back some memories.

This. This is what new Bionicle needed. That looked awesome. If only the other animations were in CGI like this. But we all know that's not happening unless Lego seriously changes their animation plans. Still, I hope to see much more of this kind of thing.

I didn't mind the laser sounds at all, though I did notice them.

The trailer is very cool, and I hope dialogue is added to it. The grey sky is the only visual aspect that I don't like; it makes the whole video look like it hasn't been rendered or something. Also the bit with Kopaka floating, but I guess that's no big deal. Towards the end of the video, you can see Tahu stretch open his hand which looks interesting.

Looks like a good time. :P Seems there's some controversy over the sound effects, but at least that doesn't affect me.

Cool to see the Masters in action with the Skull Spiders. These features can be great for giving us an idea of the kind of tone, but television adverts can really change some elements to make it seem different since they only have 30 seconds to make an impression.
