Boidoh
I recently bought the only two books that told a story about Bara Magna before Mata Nui arrived; Legends of Bara Magna and Raid on Vulcanus. Both the Graphic Novel and the novel were both spectacular. Everything was fresh, new, great. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked Then everything changed when Mata Nui came... After that point, in my opinion, the story just became bland and generic, for lack of better words. I personally think it would have been better if the Bara Magna saga pre-Ignika was longer. Maybe it should have went a whole year without the Ignika arriving. dotcom
I don't think it was the Ignika that ruined things so much as the fact that the story for TLR just wasn't very good at all, and unfortunately there was little they could do to fix that at that point. Rahkshi Lalonde
It's the real curse of the mask. everywhere it goes, it makes the story revolve around it and it alone! :U
Dorek
That would have been a happy ending... Tuma conquers planet, eventually uses up all resources, the end. 2 Quote BS01's Ambassador (Like us, Follow us)

Sharnak the Bohrok Lord
My only problem with it was the fact that the ignika wound up being a deus ex machina again. I would have preferred if its powers were used sparingly. And, yeah, TLR was partially responsible for the change in tone. To put things in perspective, TLR was meant a lighthearted kids movie and Raid of Vulcanus featured a scene where a bone hunter decapitates one of his fellow members. That said, I do find myself caring more about the 2009 story once Mata Nui came into the picture. With it and the Reign of Teridax serial, a more lighthearted story was welcome in the sea of dark, bleak themes. 2 Quote Remember Artwork III? It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. The 1st Shadow
That would have been a happy ending... Tuma conquers planet, eventually uses up all resources, the end.Not necessarily. The Glatorian and Agori could have rallied a grand defense against a Skrall attack, held them off for the remainder of the year... Think of it, a whole year dedicated to war between the tribes (minus the Sand Tribe, since the Vorox are kinda clueless ). I can see the movie title now... "Bara Magna: The Battle of Five Armies." And then Mr. Shiny falls out of the sky and Mata Nui must carry the great golden Mask of Power to the Great Volcano, where all the evil and madness started. Make it so, LEGO! (Wait, haven't we heard this story before? They even have dwarves!)
