Meiko
Many of you may not know but back in 2001 and 2003, a Japanese candy company called Kabaya had some "promotional" Bionicle sets. They're identical to the standard versions of the sets but repackaged in promotional Kabaya packaging. There's a list of Kabaya promotional sets here. My question is, do any Bionicle collectors have any of these, and to a collector are they worth any more than the standard variant of the set? T.B.O.C
I'd assume the set with packaging would be, since the only difference would be that and possibly the instructions. If I remember correctly, the Kabaya Turaga had their own combiner using the four sets. I'm not exactly sure how much more valuable they'd be though, I guess you could see how Bricklink prices them. I've seen very few there before though. Meiko
I've seen very few there before though.Yeah, in all my years of interacting with other LEGO collectors I've only met one with a Kabaya set that was in its packaging (and it wasn't even one of the Bionicle ones). :/ Quote -- Meiko - @georgebarnick LUG Ambassador and administrator at Brickipedia News reporter and database administrator at Brickset Administrator at BIONICLEsector01 DISCLAIMER: All opinions and contributions made under this account are based solely on my own personal thoughts and opinions, and in no way represent any of the above groups/entities. Eyru
They'd only be worth something different than regular sets if they were in their packaging, because they're otherwise fundamentally identical to the "official" sets. I've never actually seen one, though. Quote BRPG Forum Rules • BZPRPG Starter Topic • Q&A Compendium • SK:A Profiles
Nato G
Considering their rarity, an unopened one would be worth a fair bit to the right person, I imagine. Nidhiki of the Shadows
They came with candy... If you think stale, old candy will make the set worth more. xD I guess there is different packaging and instructions as well so for a box collector it may be worth some. A friend in Japan and I had some of the Kabaya candies once and they weren't bad. -NotS
