Chro
A small ape-like creature has been mutated and controlled by the Skull Spiders! Now the beast seeks to attack the villagers of Okoto. Fight back with the mighty Master of Plasma, using the dual shoulder-mounted blasters and energy spikes! But watch out for the Skull Slasher's razor-sharp claws! . . Click the images above for larger versions! imgur gallery flickr gallery Recently I bought Pohatu, Kopaka, the Protector of Ice, and the Protector of Fire. Fantastic parts packs. I decided to build some characters using only parts from those sets, and these were the first attempts. Check out one of my other recent MOCs, Toriaze, winner of the November BZP flickr contest! UngluedBike
Do you construct the actual sets first before WRECKING THEM?! (Excellent work by the way, really digging that chest construction on the master of plasma) 6 Quote Also, if you're a resident of the UK and like Bionicle, go ahead and join us at this awesome Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BFUK7/
Munty
Interesting reaction Bike, not crazy at all Good job creating new characters from so few sets, I particularly like the Skull Slasher and it makes me wonder whether we'll see official Protector sized villains later in the line. It's something we never really got in gen 1 (until near the end) The master of plasma is another great build but the colour scheme is just too much white for me to see past the set you used to build it (Kopaka!) It's also a little odd seeing a protector's mask on a Master's body but you've done a great job with the parts you had available to you! Would love to see a toa sized villain if you decide to dismantle these any time soon! The 1st Shadow
Now, THIS is how combo models should be done! Take note, LEGO! Anyway, the Master of Plasma looks great! The dark green ammo kinda clashes with the trans-blue, but the rest of it works quite well! The little guy looks pretty good, too. The green skull spider works well with the trans-lime bits. EDIT: I just realized that those are trans-blue studs. The yellow bit behind them makes them look like they're green. Rooster Nui
I like the usage of Skull Spider masks as heels. I find it to be really creative and not something I'd think of. I also really like the overall appearance of the Master of Plasma and I don't mind the Skull Basher Slasher, but the Master of Plasma is the one that takes the cake. Would love to see a toa sized villain if you decide to dismantle these any time soon!Interesting that you see Kopaka in the Master of Plasma, since it's a completely new build, just happens to use the same armor color and similar stature. I'm also admittedly surprised that you think a Protector's mask on a large body is strange - it was the first thing I thought to do when I saw that there'd be a corresponding Protector for each Master. Thanks, though. They're long since dismantled and I'll probably build a Toa-sized villain at some point. Now, THIS is how combo models should be done! Take note, LEGO! Yep, the ammo is blue, it was disappointing how the yellow tinted it to look green. I like the usage of Skull Spider masks as heels. I find it to be really creative and not something I'd think of. I also really like the overall appearance of the Master of Plasma and I don't mind the Skull Basher, but the Master of Plasma is the one that takes the cake.I felt like the feet needed to be larger somehow, but the sets didn't provide much in the way of Technic that I could use for such a purpose, so I stuck the silver masks on there and decided it didn't look terrible. I agree that the Master of Plasma is the best of the two - I built that one first and the Skull Slasher was built with some of the remaining pieces as a complement to him. Nidhiki of the Shadows
Awesome! The Master of Plasma looks great! The dual shoulder-mounted launchers are bad-a, and the Skull Grinder itself looks great (cool use of the Skull Spider legs and mask!). Love the overall aesthetic. Feels like it could be an actual set. -NotS

Thanks, though. They're long since dismantled and I'll probably build a Toa-sized villain at some point. I think it's probably due to how new the 2015 sets are. This is one of the first MoCs I've seen using so many of Kopaka's parts so it inevitably looks like Kopaka to me as I recognise those parts! Other larger MoCs often share parts from dozens of different sets so it isn't usually so obvious but here you were limited to what you had and my brain immediately sees that it's been built from Kopaka! The more I look at it, the more I see it as a new Toa though so in time I'll train my brain to see past the colour scheme I guess. It'll help when more people start MoCcing with the new parts too, allow for a sense of disassociation! The same goes for the mask, it looks cool but I recognise it as a protector's mask on a Toa body and so that's where my brain goes to! I'm surprised the Skull slasher isn't getting more love. I think it's a great little set but I seem to be the only one here to value it as highly as the Toa. Petersheikah
Wow! They look awesome! At first when I saw the new 2015 sets I thought that you couldn't do that much with that little variety of pieces they had, but these mocs looks cool even having the same style of the original sets! The Master of Plasma is incredibly bad, while the Skull Slasher is original and has a great color scheme Edited January 27, 2015 by Petersheikah Quote My MOCPages Profile
