Hapori Tohu
MTV of all places has a news story about the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie and what it will be about. They spoke to Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Will Arnett at the National Board of Review Awards red carpet event, and it seems one of the main themes will be exploring whether or not Batman can be happy. One of the overarching traits the character seems to have is despite the money, good looks, and fancy cars, he's never content - I think it will be interesting to see the LEGO take on this phenomenon. Fear not though, as Lord also stated that, "the action in it is incredible," so this won't just be a dramatic look into Batman's mind. Is it 2017 yet? Toa Smoke Monster
I'm glad that they are exploring the character of this version of Batman. They could've very easily just lazily made a movie to get fans of the Lego Movie to go to the theaters. (Basically a 'cash in' movie.) The fact that it appears that they are not doing this raises my interest in this movie a little. The fact that there will be incredible action scenes doesn't hurt either.
