Your LEAST Favorite Bionicle 2015 Sets.

These questions are the opposite of those found in this topic. (Obviously. )

 

So what are your least favorite Bionicle 2015 sets? Like in the topic linked above, I separated the sets per their box size. And since I still don't own all the sets yet, I'm going to wait on voting until I purchase the ones I'm still missing. 

 

But now I want to see other members answers to these questions. So vote away.

Lord of Skull Spiders is the only one I can think of... And I like the set! Just, compared to the Toa and Protectors its a bit of a weak set.

Large: Kopaka- Unnecessary amount of gold is unnecessary.

 

Medium: Lewa- Something about him seems...Off.

Small: PoW- he/she has a pretty awkward build, with skinny limbs and large chest armor.

Large: Tahu - he's the most generic of the three larger sets in my opinion.

Medium: Accidentally voted Pohatu but it's more LOSS in my opinion.

Small: Protector of Fire, although I've only seen the PoS and the PoI in person.

The only one that comes to mind is LoSS.  And I think he's a stellar set with his gear function.  Then again, the original rahi didn't have much pose-ability either.  I guess we're all spoiled with the newer sets, I suppose.

LoSS has a cool gear function but all the Toa are just cooler.

Large:

I have to go with Kopaka, becuase of the lower legs which the back armor was 100% unneeded and the shield is too big, I normally think a shield of that size would be more on a titan size set.  Another reason is bulkiness, I never think Kopaka with big armor like that, plus the shoulder armor affects the gear function.

 

Medium:

I hate gali the most, because the large weapon, shoulder armor and the spike on the lower leg affects the gear function vary badly, plus because the the large weapon weight, the ball joint will have a hard time handily it.

 

Small:

Earht Protector, it look ugly...         that just it, hate it.

Kopaka is my favorite of the large Toa, and Tahu and Onua are kind of about even I think. So I don't think any of them are my least favorite really...

 

LoSS definitely for the medium sets.

 

PoF for the small ones I guess.

I won't vote until I have all of the sets, but...

 

-Tahu. I think he is very gappy, and smothered in smooth red shells. His mask is just okay, whereas all of the other masks are awesome.

 

-LoSS. I love all of the medium-sized sets almost equally, I just care less about LoSS because a big black spider isn't very interesting to me.

 

-Protector of Fire. He's not hideous, but I'm not a fan of the silver chest armor, lack of articulation, and bland weapons. He does come with nice pieces though.

I voted Kopaka for the worst out of the big sets. There is too much gold around the upper areas of the set, but it is still wonderful.

 

The Lord of Skull Spiders got my vote for the worst medium sized set. There isn't much you can do with set, but I still like it a lot because of the Technic build. 

 

For the worst small sized set, I voted for the Protector of Fire because of the small arms and their limited articulation.

Large: Onua, by a very narrow margin. I loved building this set, but the finished model wasn't quite as good as Tahu or Kopaka, and all of the Technic left moi with sore fingers lol. 

Medium: Lewa. Bleh. 

Small: Protector of Fire. Ugly mask, and -400 for no elbows.

You're loving these polls lately eh Walrus I may have messe dup my votes and went with Gali for my medium set choice when it should really have been the LoSS. Frankly though I'm not too bothered either way. Gali is an awkward and IMO ugly looking set with shoulders almost higher than her head and by far the most hideous mask we've seen so far. I also find her weapon is too big and not particularly poseable. She has lots of unnecessary yellow bits there too in case the kids of 2015 are too stupid to remember how to make the 'trident' into her fins. The LoSS is a pretty unamazing set, but I feel just as disappointed by Gali as a core set than by a partially successful but brand new character. They knew how to do Gali and, for me at least, they got it wrong.

 

I chose the PoF for the small sets because although I like his bulky torso build he's very unposable, particularly his handarms and what is the deal with those primary weapons?! I don't have any idea how to use them and when I built and posed all 13 sets, he was the only one that I was convinced the Skull Spiders were going to get because his fire-things were just all over the place!

 

Onua for large set because reasons...

Tahu by a small margin, LoSS because he looks rather messy, is too small and is completely unpose-able. I would have said Pohatu of the 3 smaller Toa because he is the most generic looking of them all. Maybe it's because he doesn't have shoulder armor like all of the others do which seems a bit odd. The PoW is the least interesting to me personally. She/he(?) is great parts-wise but the design doesn't look that great to me for some reason.

It's a tie between Pohatu and the Lord of Skull Spiders for me in the medium range. Pohatu's pretty bland and the neon green seems a bit odd.

 

Tahu is my least favorite amongst the larger sets because his lower half seems unrefined and unfinished. The use of the chest plates for the front of his legs seem out of place and the set doesn't even have any filler material for the back of these legs.

Large is Onua, Medium is LOSS, and small is Protector of Fire. His weapons are so awkward.

Large: No least favourites. All are pretty good.

 

Medium: Lewa. The keetorange is weird, and the design is uninteresting.

 

Small: Protector of Water. Flimsy design and... odd weapon.

For the big sets, Kopaka. Lots of gold where it shouldn't be.

 

Medium size, I would say Pohatu. Not that I don't like him, but he is very small. Where I live he is 17.99 for 66 pieces. I could spend 11 for a protector with the same pieces!

 

Small box, PoF. Just Boring.

Large: All of them seem pretty good. They have a few problems here and there but not enough that I can pick out a least favorite.

 

Medium: Pohatu. I don't like his color scheme that much, and the asymmetrical silver arm looks very poorly built without any sort of detail added on.

 

Small: Tie between PoF and PoI, but i chose PoF. Red and silver isn't a very interesting color scheme, and he has no elbows.

For large I chose Onua merely because I don't like the purple very much, medium I chose Lewa because of the yellow, and small I couldn't make any decision about because there's not a great deal of difference between the Protector sets.

Tahu, while one of my favorite characters, is a letdown as a set. It's not that he's generic, it's that his legs are a bad overall design in my book and the legs are also just too long for the short torso. I also just don't like the 2nd pair of swords...I'd rather just have him surfing on lava without weapons.

 

Lewa. His lack of neck movement is inexcusable. There is no reason why they couldn't have tried to make the design better. Also, I feel that the yellow pieces could've been ketorange to match his color scheme better...the ketorange would've stuck out just the same on his black/silver back...

 

Protector of Water: I don't even own this set yet and I can tell it's gonna be my least favorite. I just looks like a weird design and not in a good way. I just don't like the way the turbines look or the weapon looks

Worst Larger Set: None of them. I like all of their designs, masks especially.

 

Worst Medium Set: Lewa, mainly being his arms and lack in head movement.

 

Worst Smaller Set: Protector of Fire. Terrible articulation and a messy color scheme in my opinion.

Large: Kopaka. I really don't like the gold, and his lower legs look incredibly silly. I also dislike him being white/blue rather than white/grey, like all previous appearances, but that's a personal gripe with the character's portrayal rather than a problem with the set. The white/blue combo looks fantastic!

 

Medium: Probably Lord of Skull Spiders? Though I feel that's a bit of a cheat answer. I like what they attempted with the set, but I don't feel they really succeeded. Not as playable as it could be, posing is hard due to the nature of multi-legged sets and it looks kinda off from some angles. It's size also makes it seem a bit wimpy for any kind of big, or even medium, bad, given that its only backup so far is a bunch of tiny non-threatening looking spider creatures. If I had to pick a least favourite medium Toa though, I'd say Gali. I dislike sets that try to mix multiple metallic colours and feel they should have committed to either gunmetal or silver for all the pieces.

 

Small: Protector of Earth? Maybe? I don't have many strong opinions about the Protectors, really, but I find the concept of his entire torso being a gun really quite wierd...

I'm just very iffy about Onya's build and color scheme, and I'm really disappointed with Pohatu's as well. I'm pretty neutral about all the Protectors, so.

Large: I love 'em all, but chose Onua because Tahu and Kopaka just knock it out of the park.

 

Medium: LoSS. Still a great set though. 

Small: Almost chose Fire, but I chose water because Fire looks better. Still love all these little guys.

LoSS is not the worst set ever, but it's just a bit of a letdown. I think they could have made him bigger if they could have, but I understand with sizing. Either way, LoSS is probably one of the comparatively bad sets in the first wave.

I've now built all the sets, so I can now vote in my own poll.

 

1. Onua, but only for his neck connection. I still think he is an amazing set.

 

2. Pohatu. While I think his set is good, I just think its a little bland when compared to Gali, Lewa, and the LOSS. 

 

3. The Protector of Fire. Probably the 2015 Bionicle set that has disappointed me the most. He has bland weapons and his build isn't the best. Plus, no elbows. Though I will say his shoulder-mounted launcher is cool.

I didn't realize the LOSS was included in the medium sets, but Gali is the worst of the smaller toa. Her mask and the awkward yellow pieces really break it.

having seen all the protectors, I cannot say any of them are bad.

I kind of agree. The gold doesn't bother me, but from the photos in DeeVee's review, the trans orange looks like it doesn't fit in very well. And the way the armor decor attaches makes him look pretty gappy. I'm buying him tomorrow though, so hopefully I will change my mind when I build him.

Big ones (20 $): Kopaka. Looks huge, and in my imagination he was slim and agile like in MoL Movie.

 

Medium size ones (15 $): I personally love them all. Especially Pohatu. He was my favourite Mata/Nuva, and he looks amazing now, especially with that mask. Lewa is awesome too, I love his new mask and I also like how his arms look a bit longer than the average. So I'll go for that Giant Spider. I hate Skull Spiders/Scorpions, they are insignificant enemies.

 

Protectors: The Protector of Stone. His weapons is too standard to me. His colors are nice though.

SPider Lord and Protector of Fire

 

Really Protector of Fire. His arms are bleh without the redeeming traits of cool weapons ala Ice Protector. His weapons are bleh though the shoulder mounted gun is nice and no back panels leaving his rear nude, something I've hated since MEtru Nui if I remember right.
