Lenny7092
Hi, guys! I know that this year, 2015, is a new year for the rebooted Bionicle, so I would like to talk about, as the title says, what do the new Bionicle 2015 remind you of. For me, the sets remind me a lot of stuff: 1. Tahu: his mask reminds me of Tahu Mata's Hau back in 2001. His silver swords/surfboard are a mix of Tahu Nuva's from 2002 and Lhikan's from 2004. Plus, his armor kind of reminds me of Stars Tahu from 2010 when he wears the Golden Armor. 2. Gali: her mask is a mix of Gali Nuva's mask from 2002 and Takadox's face. 3. Lewa: His mask reminds me of Stormer's 1.0 mask from 2010. His axes and swords remind me of Lewa Mata's axe from 2001 and Lewa Nuva's silver swords from 2002. 4. Kopaka: a mix of Kopaka Mata and Kopaka Nuva. 5. Pohatu: His mask kind of reminds me of Pohatu Mata's mask. In his adrenaline modes, when his boomerangs turn into little foot-mount jets, they remind me of the Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin from Marvel. 6. Ouna: His mask looks like Ouna Mata's mask. He kind of reminds me of Hulk and Thor from Marvel because of his bulky body and hammer, respectively. In his adrenaline mode, where his hammer turn into shovels, they remind me of Ouna Mata's claws. Plus, his big shield pieces remind me of Ouna Mistika's shield from 2008. 7. The Protectors' masks remind me of Toa Jaller Mahri's mask from 2007. Their gatling guns remind me of the Cordak Blasters from 2007, too. Plus, the Protectors themselves remind me of the Matoran and the Turaga. When the Protector of Fire has a son, that reminds me of a fact that Spherus Magna inhabitants can reproduce. 8. The tiny Skull Spiders remind me of the Krana and Visorak. 9. The Lord of Skull Spiders reminds me of the giant spiders from the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit sets. 10. The story is like a version of the 2001 story. 11. Ekimu reminds me of Mata Nui and Artakha. 12. Makuta's mask reminds me of the movie Kraakhan, a little, with a ram's horns. 13. The Mask of Creation looks like Vultraz's mask or Breez's helmet with a crown. 14. Bionicle 2015 kind of reminds me of Transformers, the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series, and The Amazing Spider-Man movie series because of the Masters look like tougher versions of the Toa Mata and of how it is rebooted. 15. The building system is like a Bionicle version of Hero Factory's. 16. The animation in the webisodes remind me of the Mixels. 17. The island of Okoto reminds me of the island of Mata Nui from 2001. So, there. What do you think? Edited January 19, 2015 by Lenny7092 1 Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!
hiddenderek
Getting the new Bionicle sets reminds me of my childhood. Even though I'm 20, I still get giddy and have fun posing them the same way I did when I was 7 back in 2001.

I'm 22 years old and messing with the new Tahu set brings back a lot of memories.

aldero
Ah yes, the memories. I would have to say that Gali's mask actually looks more like a cross of the Miru Nuva and Kaukau Nuva. The ribbing on the outsides of the mask is very much like a Miru/Kakama Nuva, whilst still maintaining an underwater vibe. The new Mask of Ice doesn't look like the Akaku Nuva as much as it does the original Akaku. The Mask of Ice has multiple scopes and is more circular, like the Akaku. Ekimu isn't really a Mata Nui figure, as he is more of an Artahka figure. Think about it. The original Artahka was a skilled crafter and mask maker, was respected and revered by the inhabitants of his universe, had created artifacts that the Toa would seek, wore a Mask of Creation, and had an envious, corrupt brother. Yep, that's basically Ekimu. Quote < -< =<o>= >- > Ha! I tricked you into reading my signature! < -< =<o>= >- >
Dimension Lord
Building Tahu and Kopaka influenced me to buy other sets. It reminded me just how much I enjoyed building Bionicle sets. 1 Quote "She lost in me her credence...""But what's normal anyway?""Don't walk away... don't walk away..." Jobber
Ekimu and Makuta's role on Okoto really reminds me of ancient gods who forge weapons for mortals and such.I'm totally making a Thor MOC if we get a decent hammer piece in a Ekimu/Makuta set. Prowl Nightwolf
Well Onua's Hammer could be a start. I mean unless there actually is a Thor out there somewhere. Isn't there Marvel hero versions with this or a similar build system? I tried rubberbanding 4 of these http://cosmicbricks.ecrater.com/p/11751678/lego-dark-gray-rubber-band together, but it just makes the hammer look shabby and makeshift. Lyichir
Ekimu and Makuta's role on Okoto really reminds me of ancient gods who forge weapons for mortals and such. I'm totally making a Thor MOC if we get a decent hammer piece in a Ekimu/Makuta set.Personally, I doubt we will get any sort of dedicated hammer piece from those characters. If Ekimu is released in the form he appeared in the animations in, I'm pretty sure his hammer is just a custom Technic hammer with this piece as the head. Makuta's a similar case, but presumably if he appears in the form we've seen him in, his hammer head would be in a new color (perhaps Transparent Bright Bluish Violet), and the obverse spiked end would be constructed with these two pieces. Of course, it's anyone's game if they appear in different forms. But in that case they very well might wield a weapon other than a hammer. Prowl Nightwolf
Well Makuta was in the middle of a form change when he put on the Mast of UP and with no media about what happened to him after its removal other than saying he was put in an endless sleep like his brother. We don't know if he returned to normal after or continued to change. It could be we get a different set than what Akimu may have due to this change. The Hip Historian Iaredios
A what if scenario about the pre-colonial Cuzco holdings making robots and shipping them off to a terraformed Rapa Nui to get their technology away from the looming white devils, then centuries later a typhoon got to it and left only the remains of their tributes to the new Mata Nui character Akimu. Nidhiki of the Shadows
Well, I can definitely say that it reminds of BIONICLE 2001: which is good, since that's what they were going for. xD -NotS
Rooster Nui
It reminds me of the first year of Bionicle, which is really great because despite not being able to enjoy it the first time around in 2001, I can clearly understand why people love that year so much. And the Egyptian feeling given off by the scenes and pictures of Ekimu's body reminds me of the Egyptian levels in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, oddly. Cheatster9000x
It reminds me of what currently stands at 2/3rds of my life, opening the toa canisters, dumping out the contents, clicking it all together, and then sending the toa on wild adventures to save the universe. Bionicle has always held that soft spot in my heart, and it always will. also it reminds me of HF
aldero
Well, I can definitely say that it reminds of BIONICLE 2001: which is good, since that's what they were going for. xD -NotS I agree, but it actually slightly reminds me of 2002. The Toa look more like Toa Nuva with all the armour and weapons and the villains are attacking in swarms. Having the Toa look a bit like rookies really added to their personalities in 2001. When they were dipped into that Energised Protodermis, they became veterans. This is lost as the Toa already look like veterans. Quote < -< =<o>= >- > Ha! Xabla
The animations remind me of many TV shows that I have seen pictures of. (I don'y watch lots of tv.) You guys won't agree with me. The Simpsons, MLP, Bionicle 2001, iPhone apps, and Portal (the game), and Avatar: The last Airbender (a show which I have seen.), and Egypt in My Social Studies textbook. Wow. Zeb
Bionicle 2015 reminds me especially of Bionicle 2001, with the goodies of 2002, 2004, and all the other years of Gen 1 Bionicle mixed in. It also kind of reminds me of HF. 1 Quote The artist formerly known as ŜﮞρЄЯ־GЄNіﮞŜ־CЯЄ▲Ŧ۞Я BBC#69 Entry: Roodaka - Master of Manipulation BFTGM entries: Zigben · Ventox · Deflecto “Hail Denmark.”
Xarok
It brings me back to a time with less crud to worry about. Like my biggest concern was getting the latest Bionicle toys before my friends did. Yeah, I was that guy. While I wouldn't say Bionicle is taking up as much of my life as it did back then, it takes me back and gives me a chance to escape for a while. Lavama
They seem to remind me a good bit of the Hordika series, actually, with the spider mask things. I'm also fairly reminded of 2001-2003 and how much of a knight these new sets look, especially the Toa. There is also an interesting reminder of how 'complex' the building was back when cogs and gears were used (Which I really, really, really geeked over when I opened my shiny new and first ever Tahu), and yet the over all design is incredibly simple and very interesting. Oh, the arm pieces remind me of the Toa Mata for sure. Honestly, this reminds me of a fair bit. Quote "Boss! Da needle is pointin' in da red! Dat ain't good!""Course it's good ya squealin' runt!
