Hapori Tohu
After their first story last night, Brickset has posted a second piece focusing on the licensed LEGO themes coming out later this year. There's information on Star Wars, Jurassic World, Marvel and DC Superheroes, Minecraft, and, most importantly, Scooby Doo. I'm personally really excited for this last theme, and can't wait to get a look at some of the sets. Go read about what we can expect to see in New York next month! Toa Smoke Monster
I still can't believe we are getting Scooby Doo sets. Even though I probably won't be getting any of them, I'm still interested in seeing photos of them, just to see what they look like. dviddy
I still can't believe we're getting Miles Morales and an Iron Spider costume in the same year. In the same wave!
Rooster Nui
Yeah, I'm surprised Scooby Doo has actually become a Lego theme now. I'll probably take a look at the sets, despite myself having no interest in the show or anything related to it.
dotcom
It sounds like the Scooby-Doo sets are based on the original series after all! I'm not the biggest Scooby-Doo fan, but I was a big fan of the Mystery Incorporated show from a few years back. SDMI based its designs heavily on the original, so they should function as suitable substitutes! I can definitely see myself getting the Mystery Machine when it comes out, since it seems affordable and should be pretty great. It's just a shame that the minifigures are so poorly distributed...Fred and Velma only show up in 1 set, and Daphne in 2? (and for that matter, the girls are exclusive to the 2 most expensive sets) Oh well...it's really nothing new for Lego to just put female characters in the more expensive sets, though it still sucks. I'll probably have to buy them off Bricklink....Unless the mansion set ends up impressive enough to get me to buy it. Certainly sounds good. Lyichir
I don't know how good the Scooby-Doo theme will be, but if it's as good as Brickset alleges I might several sets. Even if it's not, the Mystery Machine might be worth it anyway—I love a good set with iconic pop-culture vehicles and characters, even if I don't otherwise collect the theme. Of course, I'm a little upset about the news of this theme, if only because I thought "mystery-solving teens in spooky settings" would make for a great Friends subtheme. Hopefully Friends lasts long enough to take that approach after Scooby Doo has run its course! 1 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother
