Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Set Revealed

It seems like USA Today received the first look at one of the upcoming Scooby Doo sets. The Mystery Machine will contain 301 pieces, retail for $29.99, and includes Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, and a Zombie. The van itself looks great and definitely captures the classic look of the original vehicle from Scooby Doo, Where Are You? I'll definitely be picking this one up and maybe some of the other sets as well. How about you?

I didn't know Velma and Daphne were replaced by a zombie on the Scooby Doo team.

 

Joking aside, the Mystery Machine looks great in this set, as do the minifigs. And though we probably will get them in one of the other Scooby Doo sets, I wish Velma and Daphne were included here, so that you put the whole gang in the van without having to get another set. But this is still a neat set regardless.

Haha yessss! this is pretty much how I always imagined scooby-doo sets would look like. I love the build of the mystery machine, but I have to wonder, what kind of secrets does it hold? What sorta functions? and will the set be worth it?

Oh my god, the noooostaaalgiiiaaaa!!! I loved Scooby Doo as a kid, and this set is super awesome!

Thankfully, it looks like it can succeed by its own merits, too. Consider me officially interested.

In all seriousness though, I too wonder why they weren't included in this set. Maybe it would've made the price higher? I'm not sure myself.

LEGO never puts all the minifig characters from a license in one set. Gotta make minifig collectors buy at least two sets, one of which will be pricier.

Sometimes I forget Lego is a business, and that they, like all businesses, need to make a profit.

 

I still wish they all did come in one set. But if all the sets are cool like this one, then getting two of them won't be a problem at all.

Tis very sticker heavy. The minifigures are not bad, especially considering some of the new cartoon artwork I've seen. So not a terrible set, yet all the same not a theme I'll be collecting, just cause I'm not a huge fan of the theme. But sounds like a lot of others will be interested.

...Weeeellll. The only set with Velma is in (that also includes Daphne) will go for about $90, so it's gonna be a bit of a problem to complete the team, as far as money is concerned. :/ But the set in question also definitely looks really great. Still, that pricetag.

I think I'll definitely be buying at least this set. It's a gorgeous rendition of a very distinctive vehicle. Great colors, great parts, and the figs also look fantastic, retaining the iconic simplicity of the cartoons.

 

I guess my only disappointment is that the zombie has a regular headpiece instead of some sort of mask that can be ripped off to reveal a corrupt businessperson or disgruntled factory worker.
