Hapori Tohu
It looks like LEGO is full of announcements today. A press release on BusinessWire reveals that LEGO, Warner Bros, and TT Games are working on LEGO Jurassic World and LEGO Marvel's Avengers to add to the already-expansive LEGO videogame series. Jurassic World will actually cover the storylines of all four movies and will release in June. Marvel's Avengers will cover the first film as well as this year's Age of Ultron and release this fall. Both games will be available for Xbox One & 360, Playstation 3 & 4, Playstation Vita, Wii U, and 3DS. Additionally, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be coming to mobile devices this summer, just as the recent LEGO Movie game was released for iOS. Finally, don't forget that LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin is coming out for the Playstation Vita and 3DS on March 24th! It's a good year to be a LEGO gamer! Zidonaro
Yeah, but different types of gameplay would be nice too... feels too repetitive.
TinkerTech
Personally, I was hoping for another game along the lines of Lego City Undercover. It felt like LEGO was finally playing in their own sandbox for once, and it was wonderful. I loved the format and the story, although the collect-a-thon at the end got a little annoying. Not that these games won't be bad. But there's so many games along this line (Liscensed LEGO games) from LEGO at this point I just can't feel excited about them. I want to see another original game. 1 Quote Defy Expectations
Moku
Honestly, I'd love a new BIONICLE game, but only if it was done right. The two games we got pretty much ignored the plot gen 1 followed, plus the gameplay got repetitive and easy. If they can pull it off, though, then that'd be great. Hopefully they won't rehash the LEGO video game genre again, but chances of that happening are high. ChocolateFrogs
The announcement of LEGO Marvel Avengers made my day (aside from the Helicarrier announcement)! Though I hope it isn't a rehashing of the first two movies, and is something original like the first LEGO Marvel game. I would especially love to see a flashback to Captain America and the Invaders (it's a shame Namor was never in the first game), and even include the Howling Commandos. Then in present day catch up with SHIELD and throw in the characters from the show! -CF
Lyichir
Aw, nothing new for Bionicle or Elves. Ah well. I suppose both would benefit from having built up content for a few years before a large-scale video game is made. CyclonatorZ
So, let me guess, there will be at least 60 unlockable characters in each game, 10 minikit canisters and another extra to find in each level, an open hub world with secrets and missions, and lots of humorous cut scenes. Honestly, it's getting kind of old this point. I haven't been able to 100 percent a lego game since the original Lego Batman from 2006. I kind of long for the pre Travelers Tales days when we would actually get Lego games crossing different genres. Sure, they weren't all great, but we occasionally got a real standout like Lego Island, Lego Racers, or Lego Alpha Team. Nowdays all the main lego games are basically copy and pasted from each other with only a few new features each time. But since it's making Lego wads of cash, I doubt their strategy will change any time soon. Edited January 29, 2015 by ~~Zarkan~~ 1 Quote I have slept for so long. My dreams have been dark ones. Toa Smoke Monster
For someone who hasn't gotten a Lego video game since Lego Stars Wars 2 came out, this may be a good time to pick up one of these games. The Jurassic Park one in particular sounds interesting to me. If the 3DS version of it gets good reviews, I may pick it up. It took so much time to make sure I got every stud and found ever minikit, but there really wasn't a point. It gave me a gold brick which would eventually unlock an extra level, but I can get enough of those in free-play mode too. Once I just played the game for all the jokes and references and stuff, it was even more of an enjoyment. -CF

Having just finished the main story mode of Lego City: Undercover, I've realized that it's not Travelers Tales that I had grown tired of—it's the licenses. Game after game based on movie licenses I already knew the story to and had only a passing interest in had made me weary of TT Games, but Lego City showed me that the formula they've invented still works perfectly well as long as they're given the freedom to push the genre's boundaries and tell a completely original story. Unfortunately, none of the latest announcements seem like they offer that freedom. Maybe someday we'll get another game based on a long-lived generic theme like Castle or Space. 1 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother
Tea-rex
Looking forward to the Jurassic World one, as well as it being the next Lego game I've bought since The Hobbit, which likewise follows the path of all 3 films (here's to hoping that JW will also be open world). Mr. Cup of Fail
Will there ever be more none-Lego licensed theme games on console, the only ones we had was the Lego Movie (that game was way too short to be $20+) and Lego City undercover which was only on the Wii U.it's would be great if that Lego Ninjago game was going to be for console as well. I enjoyed Lego City Undercover and Lego Marvel Superheroes for what they were, but they both got too tiring long before I reached 100 percent. I think part of the problem is that modern lego games are just too big. Too many collectibles, too big open worlds, etc. I'd really like to see a smaller, more focused game, one which is totally set apart from the standard action-puzzler-collectathon formula all the TT games have followed.
