I've seen this topic discussed in other places on the forum, that topic being the length of the animated Bionicle episodes. Most of them are one minute and thirty seconds long. Some are happy with this, while others think that they should be longer. So my question to everyone is this: how long do you think the Bionicle episodes should be? Two minutes long? Three minutes long? Longer than that? What do you all think?

For me, I kind of wish the episodes were a little longer, maybe two or two and a half minutes long. It would help the story to be able to breathe a little more and might not make it feel rushed at times. But that is just my opinion on this.

If anything, I wish there were just more episodes—like episodes focused on the other Toa's mask quests. But I've liked the length of the episodes we've gotten, which are short enough that I can watch them without setting aside a dedicated block of time.

Well what I'd like is if there was a full bionicle animated series with 22 minute episodes, but seeing as to how lego aren't that confident just yet (and for good reason) I would like 5 minute episodes, just so we could have some focus on a character that isn't Tahu or the protector of fire (let's just assume he's Vakama).

If there were more episodes, (&/)or some other media, I'd be content with their length atm.

As that isn't the case I really feel we need more than 25 minutes for what is basically 6 months (I think 1/2 minute episodes weekly/fortnightly is great, and less than that just seems... like an odd case of diminishing returns [where more effort would actually gain more returns])

So presuming that me voting for more than one thing might be irksome, and also assuming that we're operating roughly on the premise that there are only 9 episodes and unlikely to get more until Wave 2 arrives~, I chose 3 minutes, but realistically my answer would vary as I'm mainly focused on how much stuff is there in a 6~ month time period.

Having one 15 minute long episode and a few other 1 & a bit minute episodes would be an outlier that strikes me as a bit odd, although having an extra long episode ;introducing; something (say the Skull villains from Wave 2) wouldn't seem as odd, but generally speaking:

15 minutes (available, not necessarily seen) + 13 sets (available, not necessarily owned!) + miscellaneous tidbits on the website (that haven't necessarily been seen); does not seem like 6ish moths worth. (Whilst many kids might not see the website let alone the episodes, and own maybe 2 sets, there is still a possibility that they see other kids playing with the sets, or hear about other Bionicle stuff etc.)

I know more isn't required, & that plenty less still would probably sell well, but hey in for a penny in for a pound.

I went for five minutes because that was about the average length of the Bohrok episodes in 2002, and I feel like those are pretty much the ideal. One of those per month was plenty to tell a compelling story, without feeling rushed or skimpy.

Granted, those had the MNOG to build on -- they did not need explain to the setting, and they only introduced two characters whom we did not already know. But if the update schedule for the g2 episodes is once per fortnight rather than once per month, I still think 5 minutes is enough to flesh out the story.

I choose 5min as well. Partly due to not being so short that the limited content(Tahu ehh...) is rushed just to get to a later story. Also not too long that if one wanted to wach them in sequence it may feel more like an actual episode one would watch on TV. 5 * 6 = 30. Though with commercials maybe 4 could be better option allowing for 6 minutes of ads without having to cut content for it should they air on TV instead of just the Internet. That is assuming these are not meant to be ads themselves. It wouldn't be much to think these shorter episodes could work separately as ads on TV, but only if they wanted to do that.

As for future content... I think unless they choose to flush out the other Toa we may be disappointed to find out that due to the last episode showing a skulled hand bursting forth.. the next episodes would likely start to intro said summer villains. So while creating them may have already started if not finished, we may not get them until June sometime.

I like the content they cover in these animations in the 90 seconds they have but I think they could benefit from having an extra 30 seconds. As they are now, they start out solid and end really abruptly and that kind of bugs me. There is no time to finish the music or end off on a good image so it blacks out right when something good is about to happen. It's like they build it up for the next episode, only to have the build-up restated pointlessly by a "previously" that wastes a good 10-20 seconds.

I am not expecting a whole show or anything, but for me about 2.5 mins would be great. Most webseries are between 3-5ish

I picked longer than five minutes. I'm used to storytelling from other franchises being at least 10 minutes long--90 seconds is just starting to get annoying.

We should have a tv show which could replace Chima's time slot since it's over. A 20 min program would be awesome.

Sure why not... Let's do it... Wait Chima is over? What I miss now?

Yeah, It ended while Ninjago lives. It was not even that recent.

I voted other. The reason why is because, while I like their current length, I'd also like them all to be edited into one regular episode at the end of the year, which would be longer than any of the poll options
