And this is one of those "I had an idea so I'm trying it out" kind of things. :shrugs: I was trying to be accurate to the original while evoking 2015's style (see them muscles? :P). I don't expect to win, but if I happen to, I'm not complaining. :)

Comments, criticism (I expect plenty :P) and everything else welcome. :)

You know, I actually made a Roodaka MOC, but I decided against entering it into this contest because it wasn't CCBS enough. I might upload it later down the line.

Anyway, I hate to say this, but This doesn't look at all like Roodaka, especially around the head. I see the similarities, but they aren't all that obvious from first glance. Maybe with more pieces, you could make something more accurate to the original rather than a vague robot-like thing. I like the idea, but the execution is... meh.

I have to disagree, I think this looks exactly like roodaka and is certainly instantly recognisable! I'd almost count this as a 'mini' set though as it's a much smaller representation than the old titan and therefore has less detail. That said I think you've done a great job representing those features from the hair right down to the jubblies :D

Well....you tried I'll give it that, and while my "entry" also wasn't that much of a great hit (mostly because I didn't really bother wasting that many pieces just wanted to throw something together) I can understand that you did what you could with what you had, but it looks like a bad version of a baby/child Roodaka. There are no feminine characteristics to what you made, aside from the coloring there is next to no similarity between the two

I have to agree with Daronus, this MOC doesn't make me think it's Roodaka. It would had been best to not make it the Hero Factory heroes body build and just make it like the black phantom build somewhat.

The Roodaka set didn't have feminine characteristics either, so this MOC fits right in.

Anyway, regardless of how limited the MOC is, it still manages to be better than pretty much every Nuva-shoulder-breasted Roodaka out there!

Check your glasses please, high heels, breasts covered with armor, long sleek legs and long hair (though that was shown best in the movie)

And you do know that there are other type of Roodaka remakes other than the ones with the Nuva shoulder right?

You know, I actually have to disagree with a few other posters; I can definitely see the resemblance to Roodaka.  As far as a 2015, CCBS-style interpretation of the set goes, I think this nails it.  Colors, overall shape, the way everything comes together-- I definitely see Roodaka there, and i think it's pretty clear.

My big complaint, though, is just the simplicity of the build.  It feels like the Roodaka imitation came together almost too easily (which is always a problem using CCBS), and as a result a lot of the little details that filled out the original set were simplified or disappeared.  And maybe it's just because original Roodaka was a titan, and this interpretation takes a more canister-sized approximation of her, but I think a lot of the appeal of the '05 set was the intricacies of the build, the subtle complexity that gradually pulled itself together into something lithe, sleek, and dangerous-looking.  In this 2015 version, we get the general outline pretty well, but (if only for size and the inherent constraints or simplifications of CCBS) we lose all those subtleties, and as a result lose the sleekness and style of the original.

That said, very creative interpretation of a lot of Roodaka's key elements-- I love the concept of that head, and her claw-spinner-thing looks pretty sweet as well.

For a smaller model, this is fine. It's a little difficult to tell who it is at first, but it pulls it off I guess. I imagine Roodaka to be quite... well, larger than this, so this was not what I was expecting when I clicked the ink to this topic. (I was expecting a large titan-sized figure like the original.) Coincidentally, I've actually finished my own Roodaka MOC to enter into the contest.

So you did a good job for the scale, though the head does look a bit weird.

Judging by their location, her supposed breasts mostly look like manly pecs. High heels are really no indication either given that no other set or character has them, leaving it uncertain who would commonly wear them in the MU. For example, they could worn primarily by male characters, as happened historically on Earth, which would mean that would add nothing to her appearing feminine. Her hair was only evident as such in the movie, and on the set appear to be more like horns. Sleek legs, perhaps, I'll grant you, though.

So, out of your list of things only one could conceivably point to her being female. Hardly a fault in my vision. (Although this is straying from the point of the topic, so further discussion should probably be elsewhere.)

I honestly don't see too much Roodaka in this CCBS MOC.

Still great nonetheless.

Upon reflection, if I had silver shells the size of the black ones I used on her legs, this one might be slightly better. The chest for this one was fairly difficult, especially working with CCBS constraints.

I was not aware that the original set had high heels. I don't own this one, so I was literally working off of that picture. :P With that being said, it shouldn't be too hard to give the MoC heel lifts. :P (Not that I really want to lol.)

I think all the posts above cover this up rather fully, I'd like to add that I would have much appreciated a working Rhotuka launcher.

Oh and, what are those at the sides of her head?

The Rhotuka launcher on the MoC probably works, it's just that I didn't put a spinner on it because I really don't have a silver spinner. (Technically my bro has one on Whenua Hordika but I don't steal.) Also, the 2005 photo doesn't have a spinner on the launcher.

As for the things, that's my attempt to replicate/parody the "hair" parts on the original set. :shrugs:

So that what happens when Roodaka gets hit with a Shrink Kanoka. :P

Funny enough though - while this is smaller than Roodaka for sure, the model actually appears to be regular CCBS humanoid size.

I think the "miniature" look has to do with the streamlined design of CCBS - you need less parts (and with less detail) to create a fairly complete looking being. This take on Roodaka is pretty interesting because it captures the look and colour of Roodaka with simple shapes and a really minimalistic design. Now, this leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion, but it succeeds in being obvious to which character it is supposed to represent so I definitely have to give you props for that! :)

*debate about whether the character I've made looks like Roodaka*

*person walks in, and says that it is obvious that it looks like Roodaka*

Er, not so obvious. If there are a bunch of people who don't see the resemblance to Roodaka, then it is by definition not obvious.

It looks more like Roodaka than any other set. Therefore it should be fairly clear that's who it is. I highly doubt any fans would be unable to identify this as Roodaka if you told them it's based on a pre-existing gen1 character. The rhotuka launcher and ripcord are a pretty big clue and from there it is most definitely obvious. It's clearly not a hordika or visorak, and not many other sets used spinners :P

This is in severe need of elbows. :D Aside from that, I'll agree that it sorta looks like a mini version of Roodaka, but a face is needed for more of a resemblance; maybe it would work better if you used the head from the original set?

It does, in fact, have elbows.

I am not in possession of said head. Spoiler alert, and all of that.
