what is your favorite toa of air?

Let's see here...

It's Lesovikk if you ask me. Lesovikk isn't a great fighter, but he's a sympathetic hero. He spent tens of thousands of years wandering around looking for his friends and saving lives. Now that's dedication. He even stood up to the great tyrant Karzahni.

I have to say Lesovikk as well. He had a very tragic backstory with this Toa team being wiped out by Zyglak. (And that being his fault to boot.) The fact that he stopped thinking of himself as a Toa, at least until Sarda said that he still believed in him, also helped him standout among the various Toa, since it meant that he became okay with killing his enemies. That trait of his probably even made him one of the most unique Toa out of all of them in the story. All the more reason why he is one of my favorite Toa overall.

Plus, his Sea Sled was awesome. :)

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

I think Matau. While he gets no points for his behavior toward Nokama, his shape-shifting power was fun to see in action and he gets points for saving Vakama. And he's the guy who makes some of the most off-the-wall jokes of the series.

I'd have to say Kongu. He was hit with just the right amount of cosmic irony during his time as an Inika that always left him with comedic quips (as the comic relief role was usually placed on Le-Matoran), but he could also show mature sides in the story

Plus Lewa was OP, and Matau was barely a Toa hehe

I gotta say Nidhiki, I mean I love Lewa, but I thought Nidhiki was awesome.

I enjoyed what I saw of Iruini, and Lesovikk had a good backstory, & as for Matau & Kongu, I enjoyed seeing the Toa Metru, but probably just because it's what I new first, I enjoyed them more as Turaga & Matoran but they were also good Toa IMO. & even if Spinner isn't disqualified, ...what's to say...

As a kid I would've said Matau with no hesitation because he was hilarious and (in the movie anyway) discovered stuff and then hit a wall or whatnot.

As of now though, Lewa really stands out as a great personality. I never really read many of the books, but from his portrayal in the movie, I really liked his spirit and how he (along with Pohatu) tried to keep things upbeat.

I have to say I liked Nidhiki's somewhat tragic life and story. He was a realist, and I respect that.

Definitely Lewa, mostly for nostalgia reasons. Set the bar for future Toa's of Air with his carefree and jokester-like attitude (though Lesovikk diverted from this). Great character with plenty of great jokes and his infections were well-done in the early years, adding a lot of tasty conflict.

It's between Nidhiki and Matau. Both absolutely great characters. The former had a fantastic tragic backstory, while the latter went through a very nice developmental arc of regarding the job of Toa as fun and adventure to understanding it's dangers and the magnitude of responsibility that came with it.

Lewa for obvious reasons, but I'd like to see some light shed on Nidhiki working as a Toa

Either Lewa or Kongu. Lewa was carefree and playful, while still being a formidable fighter. Kongu was easily one of my favorite characters from MNOG, right next to Tamaru and Macku. He was super cool and even formidable even as a Matoran, and he just got more powerful as a Toa.

Its hard not to just say all of them, because, frankly, they have all had great qualities.

Lesovikk's backstory was tragic, and he spent much of his life trying to rectify it.

Nidhiki was a kickbutt guy, who defected because why not, and got karma-punished because of it.

Matau had great character development in his time as a Toa, and you clearly see it if you read the books, etc. He's also hilarious.

Kongu was dope when he was a Matoran, and continued that tradition as a Toa. He was a G. ("Two hands.")

Lewa embodies the free spirit of air, but was also a character that went through a lot, as well as having many great moments. From being infected either a kanohi or krana, to the moment in the Bohrok nests (that wall only exists while you believe it in, Tahu), Lewa is just great.

But if I had to pick a personal favorite...

Set-wise: Lesovikk, hands down. Dunno why, but I love him.

Character-wise: Matau.

I feel like all of the Toa of Air that we saw (except perhaps Iruini) could be counted among my favorite characters, actually. But at the end of the day, I think I would have to say Lesovikk - getting his POV during Dreams of Destruction was one of my favorite things about 2007, and I always found his character to be interesting on so many different levels.
