Tracker Suggestions

Hello!

 

After reading through the Q&A guides I have a question about tracker issues and suggestions. If it gains the 5 votes and is accepted, what happens next? I'm assuming it can't be implemented right away, but what is the process after the iniital yes/no part?

After that point a staff member (in my experiences, it has been Windrider, although that may vary since I'm not entirely certain which staff handle the tracker) will bring it to the attention of the administrators. If it's simply a suggestion (such as making posts count in certain forums), they'll discuss whether the change is necessary or beneficial and eventually come to a decision on whether or not to implement it. If it's an issue with the forums (such as coding issues), they will take a look at the behind-the-scenes stuff, as well as contacting InvisionPower if it becomes necessary.

 

A staff member can probably provide you with a more accurate and in-depth answer, though. :P

I would say yes... If it is something that requires community knowledge they will likely make a topic advertising the change. As was the case with G&T topic posts now counting towards your total. Other things they may only post a response in the respective Tracker topic.

Usually the staff (hi Wind) passes the suggestion to the admins, and they decide what to do with it. 

 

Although issues tend to be always looked at, regardless of the number of confirmations.

One last question, though: if it gets implemented is it made known? If it isn't, is that made known?

If it is implemented, the staff makes an announcement on the front page (or in an appropriate location). If rejected, the ticket in question is locked with the rejection message. Either way, you'll know.
