URGENT: Can't Post Images (or links to them)

I am trying to post pictures in my entry topic for BBC #69 but there almost seems to be a sort of bug with it. I clicked the image-button and as is supposed to a box appeared where I was supposed to paste the image URL. However, neither the OK-button nor the cancel-button do anything. In fact, the close(x)-button does not work either. I have tried two very good computers and neither have frozen-up when trying to complete the task; the buttons are just completely unresponsive; no animation even. The same goes for posting a link too.

 

So what am I doing wrong? My images are well under 750 KB each; what could be the problem? Please respond quickly, I want to start my entry topic as soon as possible for the contest.

If the image button doesn't seem to be working for you, you can just type in the code manually. It isn't hard either. You just need some "img" tags.

That should do it.

That seems to have worked, but for some reason I cannot copy and paste the URL and have to type the whole thing out. Works anyway and that's good enough for me. Thanks!

Are you working in IE? As that could be a problem right there. I have been having the same issues so I have to go into the BBCode mode to manually type in image codes. Also to note, while posting a url requites both an opening tag and the closing tag [ /url] to post an image you just have to use a single [ img=] tag and place the picture's url after the = sign. If you want the picture to link to a location place the img tag inside the opening and closing url tags. Make sure to remove any spaces. within the code brackets.

 

Pasting can be done in the BBCode mode as well. or should.

I'd just like to mention that the file size limit in BBC is 100 KB if you want to embed the image, not 750. That wouldn't cause it to not work, however.

It does sound like a browser problem, as Prowl Nightwolf pointed out. IE and BZP don't really mix, as his ticket here points out. Other members have also come to me about unresponsive link/image dialog boxes. The patch is to use the BBCode editor as Takuma Nuva said.

 

Here's the one for links:

And for linking an image:

 

[URL=URL here][IMG=Image location (URL) here][/URL]

 

I'm not sure why it's not letting you paste in URLs. But it seems like you've found a workaround. I might suggest a different browser, though, really, since it doesn't seem like it's an issue that either IPB or IE will fix soon.

Try switching to the BBCode mode and anything you want to paste should do so. Keeping in mind that formatting such as Bold Italic or Color wont copy over unless you pre-copied it with the format coding intact. In other words (and while I know it is a bit of a hassle as I have to do it myself,) switch to BBCode mode prior to selecting the text you want to copy so you can also highlight the desired code as well. Then while still on BBCode mode past the pre-copies text into the desired location. Then switch to the RTE mode to see how the text looks. Change back to BBCode mode as needed to mod any code.

I don't have an answer for this but two suggestions: Does your computer glitch, or how old is it?
