Mr. Gold eBay auction

Hello!

I am selling a Mr. Gold minifigure from back when the promotion was running. Details about the auction can be found here: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Lego-Mr-Gold-MINT-3033-5000-/181673144649?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item2a4c903149

The price there is slightly above average, but I have best offer up to play the market (by showing a larger price I can possibly get offers of what I actually want to sell it for)

Price is based around the average between the Bricklink sales and other eBay sales

Haha, yeah, but hey, I figure while they're selling well I might as well take advantage of the market :P

I mean, it's just a minifigure with some good chrome, but I guess the limited number (and completion it's mindset of a lot of collectors) is what drive his price up through the roof

I don't see why the furor for the minigifures, I mean they are not THAT cool...

Yet you collect masks and krana right? Exactly the same thing, just not so niche. I imagine minifig collecting is WAAAY more popular than mask collecting and for less than £1k you can buy the rarest minifig ever compared to 15k for a mask they only ever made one of. That certainly makes minifigs the more reasonable collectible. More available too and more affordable, more recognisable AND undoubtably more popular.

Anyway, I can see why you started a new topic for this as it's YOUR sale rather than just A sale but be sure to put it in the official ebay topic too for some additional exposure :)

Check out my Bionicle store on Bricklink here!

Let me know if you can help me find these last few collectibles!

The thing is, masks/krana have some kind of "background" or "meaning" (I don't now what word to use), in facebook I'm in two groups where people go buying all kinds of lego minifigures. I guess the polybags are more understandable as they are sold to be collectables, but then there are people buying Avengers or StarWars or LoTR and I don't know, I just don't see how they are cool. I remember there is a Jango Fett figure that costs like $100, and I don't see why. I mean a mint and sealed PowerPack can be sold for that but because how old it is and the several rare krana are worth because how scarce they are

I understand why this minifigure in particular is expensive, what I don't understand is the love for them in so big quantities

Came for the sets, stayed for the story.

Good luck on the sale. Hope it goes to a good home and a true collector.  I am a Collectible Minifigure colllector and I happen to get Mr. Gold from a person from Washington state a few months ago. I got all minifigures series from 1 thru 13, Lego Movie and Simpsons series and Mr. Gold was the last minifigure I need to complete my collection. Luckily I got my Mr. Gold for $250.

Awesome! I'm glad that you struck out with an awesome deal for him! I figure I'll play the market while Mr. Gold is selling high, since he's been merely a shelf warmer and I'd feel better if somebody else who needed him actually glad him. I'm always sad to see stuff being sold, but I've gt the memory of being the only person in my area to own one, so hey, there's that :P

Hopefully people make some offers on mine, I'm willing to wiggle around a lot (the price displayed is high so that when people offer lower it will hopefully be around what I actually aim to earn from him)
