Hapori Tohu
The 87th Academy Awards took place last night, and although it didn't receive a nomination for best animated picture, the presence of The LEGO Movie was still felt. Since Everything Is Awesome was nominated for best original song, Tegan and Sara along with The Lonely Island performed the song live, with some help from Will Arnett and others. As part of the routine, they even handed out brick-built Oscar trophies to celebrities in attendance like Oprah. Even though it didn't win for best original song either, I think it's safe to say that there was a lasting impression, like one might get from stepping on a 2x4, from LEGO at the awards show. The Meta Knight
That was truly awesome. I'm still surprised it didn't win. I think it was more deserving than any other song performed there, and that's saying something. Perhaps TLM2 will win an Oscar... I don't expect it to be as good as the first one though, so it's unlikely. 1 Quote Stay vigilant, my friends.
Ta-metru_defender
Anyone else notice minifig Phil Lord and Chris Miller on screen when they said "it's awesome to win it's awesome to lose"? 4 Quote Hand-drawn, bespoke avatar by none other than Mushy the Mushroom. a body adrift in water, salt, and sky
Lenny7092
Wow! I am super impressed! I love the performance. It's awesome as the songs says! Man, can things get amazing about the Lego Movie! Who knew it could do that wonderfully? It's funny that Batman song is briefly including in the performance. Ballom Nom Nom
Even though it didn't win for best original song either, I think it's safe to say that there was a lasting impression, like one might get from stepping on a 2x4, from LEGO at the awards show. However, we hope that there was not accompanying horrible pain for the impression from the Oscar experience! ~B~
Vorahk1Panrahk2
Ah, so that's where Emma Stone got her LEGO Oscar- I tuned in an hour late and couldn't figure out why she had one. When they briefly showed her later in the ceremony she was clutching it like it the most valuable thing in the world to her. I hope she got to keep it! Toa Smoke Monster
I've said it before and I'll say again: I would love to have a Lego Oscar. Maybe I could build one myself, though I probably won't. Anyway, even though I didn't see the song performed on TV that night, it think its still cool that a song from the Lego Movie was sung at the show. Maybe TLM2 will have a better chance at winning an Oscar in a category when it comes out. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Adventurer
So sad it didn't get the nomination for movie and didn't win the award for what it did get the nomination for. Ah well it was nice to see this touch for the show and increased my enjoyment. Quote Credit to Pohuaki for the awesome banner!
