I got Kopaka today (woo!). But, of course, he has stickers.

What a conundrum.

But it got me thinking that it might be an interesting topic to have here. Do you use stickers, or do you simply throw them out, or do you keep them somewhere, or what?

Personally, I never (well, ever since I used them on some Exo-Force sets, then was irritated that I couldn't cleanly get them off) use them. I find it somewhat damages the re-useability of some pieces.

I generally do not mind stickers, and I always put them on....with one exception so far, though. That being Kopaka. I see no point whatsoever on Kopaka's stickers, so...yeah. First time I've skipped on that.

Always apply them to system sets, which are what I primarily buy, though. The only stickers I have a problem with are clear stickers. Those end up looking hideous....real shame that so many sets these past couple of years use them...good thing that all the 2015 sets with stickers I have have gone back to solid colors, though.

Yeah, I only have Onua whom has stickers and for those who have seen his build I used them there on his chest. Don't know what these clear stickers are... though I do remember my Chima sets with stickers. I've added them to their respective places. So I guess I do use the stickers where provided... :P

I mean when the designs are printed on clear stickers. Every time I use them they tend to have air pockets or some sort of blemish on them and fingerprints get marked on them on top of that...very annoying. A lot of Chima sets last year used this kind of sticker, which is unfortunate because I have a lot of those...stickers like the ones Onua has, where the background color is also printed, it looks much nicer and cleaner.

I always apply stickers; I prefer to keep sets exactly how they were designed. Later down the road, however, if I don't plan on re-assembling a set, I will remove the stickers. Like those orange stickers on Rotor.

The stickers on Kopaka and Onua do not bother me. The purple chest plate design helps Onua's color scheme, and the darker colors on Kopaka's thigh armor help accent the huge shin armor I think.

I do dislike stickers in general, and always prefer print, but the sticker hate is exaggerated. At the worst they are mildly frustrating, certainly not something to rage over.

Unless I'm buying a set for the parts and the parts alone (which rarely happens), I pretty much always apply stickers. Finding ways to reuse parts that are already decorated is part of the fun for me. And it's been years since I've had any problem with sticker quality.

Back when I was a kid, when I got a set with stickers I'd have my dad apply them for me. And the stickers back then were a lot worse than what we have today — a lot of them were STAMPs (Stickers Across Multiple Pieces), which today almost never show up in sets except things like the recent Maersk ship or train that would require mutilating another company's logo or trademark otherwise. I always looked forward to being old enough to apply the stickers myself, so ever since I started doing so, I've thought of stickers as just another part of the building process.

I do have some pet peeves about stickers, though. For instance, I really dislike stickers like the one on the tail of 3367 Space Shuttle. Not only does it not meet with the edges of the piece, it is completely circular and has no markers to indicate the top and bottom. That's three separate problems making it difficult to line up correctly (and you must take great care to line it up correctly, since there is one on each side of the tail fin and you want to ensure that they match). The Plankton sticker in 3826 Build-A-Bob is another dual offender. Not only is it a STAMP (ugh), but stickers applied to a curve with such a small radius do not like to stay put. It's no surprise that I had issues with that sticker peeling over time.

I'm generally against stickers, but I do apply them sometimes.  Usually it depends on if I like the design, or if the model it's going on would look boring without it.  So I did apply Onua and Kopaka's stickers because I felt them worthy for the set displays, and I'll so it for tiles and such that have maps or cool / reuseable symbols.  And I also apply stickers when I review a set, because I figure it's worth showing off the full set, even if I would rather not apply them normally.

I don't like stickers for obvious reasons that they can ruin an otherwise blank piece, and they're really hard to apply to long, thin pieces like curved slopes.  But, on the other hand, they're a step above printed pieces, because you get to decide if you want the standard or decorated piece, and printed ones never give you that option.  So it really depends for me.  All the same, I've been keeping a collection of unused stickers around, in case I ever want to use them / trade them.

I don't hate stickers or people who use htem, but i do prefer the big cleam blocks of color that basic bricks give. and some stickers are just so colorful or theme specific, it would be frustrating to try and use them elsewhere.

(biggest issue though is peeling, i hate the peeling of over time thing. dX )

I don't like stickers because they are annoying to use, but I feel that I have to use them follow the instruction manuals. I mean, when the instruction manuals want perfection, you have to place where the stickers should exactly be, which is the annoying part.

I never really liked applying stickers, and generally haven't applied any since about 2002. Although there have been a few exceptions: the T1-Typhoon, the 2005 Droid Tri-fighter, 7623 Temple Escape, and (some of) 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull. Why I applied those stickers I have absolutely no idea. But you know, I do think they look better with them, even if the Typhoon's '!' sticker on the green round 2x2 keeps peeling.

So basically I have a whole container filled with sticker sheets that have gone unapplied. I primarily display my sets rather than build my own creations, so really there's no reason why I shouldn't. I guess I'm just really scared that I'll put them on crooked and they'll forever look weird, even though that has only yet happened to one piece in Temple Escape. I'm not really the best at applying sticky things...

I can always remove it later.

How does one do this without leaving some form of blemish on the piece?

Scrubbing with soap and water should usually be enough to remove sticker residue from bricks without damaging the piece. There are also weak household solvents designed to remove sticker and glue residue from things, though I don't know whether all of them would be LEGO-safe.

Personally, I generally don't remove stickers from pieces. I did it a few times when I was a kid and always regretted it later when I no longer had those parts with their intended decoration.

Wait, don't you mean tape (LegoMationStudio logic :P)

Anyways, I use stickers but I don't use them on sets but MOCs, an example are Riaso V3 (and the newest Riaso V6 with his mask), 9DRC of Tahu and Lewa, and a upcoming MOC that I still need a name for.

I actually always put on stickers. Figure it's the way it's supposed to look and, in the case of licensed sets, usually. makes it more like the actual thing.
