Tohunga have Tohunga inside themselves

*throws work into the air, pushes self away from desk, strips naked, runs outside, cries*

But one could actually say they do. The way Mata-Nui had matoran as his sort of cells which were bio-mechanical whereas he was completely mechanical, matoran can have cells which can be their own matoran, and are completely organic whereas the matoran are partially. Some fun consistency there, so even if they don't have little tohunga running around in them, the cells could take that role.

But bruh that little tohoonga is so cute!

So now we have proof that matoran were based off marsupial mammalians, and that baby matoran are much like baby Kangaskhan. They never leave their mother unit's 'pouch' until the mother unit dies, upon which they develop their own pouch and own baby to carry

Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot

I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line...

Actually, it makes them more akin to aphids.

I though implying insectoid biology in a robotic humanoid species might be a little strange when their creators were mammalian. Also, aphids are garden pests with their only redeeming features being their hilarious resemblance to idealized cattle.

as weird as birds that sing after they die? Or beings able to control fire?

I remember noticing that there are "lines" pointing from that circle (which I took as the heartlight) to the limbs, so possibly the equivalent of blood vessels / wires heading to them (representative of them, of course, since it's gaps in the plastic), or a skeleton, or nervous system lines, etc. Didn't catch that it looks like a Matoran though. Weird.

Didn't notice that, although I wonder if (at least in later canon) it's supposed to represent mata nui?

Vitruvian Nui strikes again.

Never heard that one before.

Mata Nui's robot, as he appeared on the Mask of Life, was based off the Vetruvian Man by Da Vinci.

WHAT THE-?!?!?!

I honestly can't believe in all the 14 years I have been following Bionicle I have never once noticed this... This has blown my mind!

Props to the designers for such a fantastic design! It's even more impressive considering the fact that these were simply free promotional sets. Some thought went into it, for sure.

Am I the only one who is staring at other pieces trying to make other connections?

http://prntscr.com/6ps3xx

It never ends!

EDIT: I just happened to remember that someone once pointed out that many of the limbs of Matoran and Toa have "accordion" or "ribbed" joints or on other places. Examples:

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60899

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=47300

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x240

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=50920

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32482

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=47311

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=47297

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32578

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=40507

Now all of these are well and good: it shows that many MU inhabitants share this feature, especially Matoran. There is however, one more limb that has this design: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=41670

Maybe they were trying to point out the connection between Bohrok and Matoran all along?
