Christian Faber has been updating his blog, the Faber Files, recently with the beginning of what will hopefully be a huge wave of Bionicle content. Turaga Files - Unboxing the Legend - Exhibit 001 and Exhibit 002 show off some concepts for posters from 2007 and 2006, respectively. The first features Nuparu Mahri fighting off a tentacled underwater beast while the second shows Hakaan and the rest of the Piraka. I can't wait to see what else he posts!

The poster with Nuparu seem to show him with different chest armor. It actually looks really good and I kind of like it more than what was on the official set. 

 

The Piraka one is the cover of Dark Destiny. Though I never noticed that Rediak had what appears to be a third eye on his face.

You can really tell the difference between the book covers that use awesome covers and the ones that use lame promo stock images.

The interesting thing about that Nuparu is that it actually uses FEWER new molds than the actual set, with the chest and shoulder armor both seeming to be composed of the old Technic panels. Of course, since the actual construction of it can't be seen, it's possible that they're just prototypes made of patched together parts, like the aforementioned "Gear Up" poster. That would explain why the actual set used an older chest plate—the final design for the shoulder armor doesn't function as effectively as chest armor.

I'm not so interested in the second one featuring the Piraka, as I've partially seen it many times before. However, the first one with what appears to be a prototype 07 Nuparu, interests me. You can tell that there were many minor changes to his design.

 

Despite this, he still looks like our official, beloved Nuparu.

So awesome. The Piraka art was the cover for Dark Destinies, so nothing too new, though it is nice to have a high-quality version of it.

 

The Nuparu Mahri pic though - that is awesome! Great art and I wish it was used. Also, interesting to note the different chest and shoulder armour. Pretty cool!

Nice to see that this gives a bit more insight into the "menu screens" of the MNOG. Apparently they were meant to be devices in the Toa Canisters for the Toa to use for guidance and navigation. Who knew?

Imagine what the gameplay would've been like with this type of navigation! I'm personally glad they scrapped it in favor of the more primitive looking Book of Chronicles, though.

I always love seeing prototype stuff. I hope Faber has some pictures of prototype sets.

 

Good to see more '07 stuff. I really liked the design of a lot of the sets that year. Its too bad that I can't play with any of my '07 stuff without the fear of them crumbling into a pile of broken pieces.
