TheOneVeyronian
Jetran'Rex, Steel Mercenary by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr The brutal warrior brother of the Guardian Mechan'Rex, Jetran'Rex is a master of aerial axe combat with glowing red eyes that strike fear into his enemies and a super-powerful jetpack which enables him to fly despite his heavy steel forged armour. He is a Master of Sonics, Metal and Air and fights only to defend his family and retrieve the Golden Masks for his greedy collector father, taking on any Toa, Skull Villain or even Makuta who stands in his way. This MOC, a heavily modified "evolution" of Mechan'Rex, the award winning BFTGM entry, was made for BZPower's Flickr contest and incorporates Power Functions in the form of light-up eyes. The battery box is mounted on his back where it forms the bulk of the jetpack. It is 100% purist. Pushing the dark bley levers at the bottom pops the wings on the jetpack up.Front view: Jetran'Rex, Steel Mercenary by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Back view: Jetran'Rex, Steel Mercenary by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr I hope you enjoyed looking at this MOC, which despite this being essentially a revamp, still took 3 days to build. The rudder tail is essential in the build as it supports the weight of the in situ battery box in the back of the body. 3 Quote My Flickr - My Brickshelf - My DeviantART Latest MOC: Draphim the Dragonborn - Latest artwork: Mazzie Rati MOC Accolades: Mechan'Rex, Steel Guardian (BFTGM 2nd place on EB) - Skeletal Dragon (Featured on BZP) - Skull Imitator Corphos (Featured on Creator's Corner) - CCBS Chess (Featured on BZP) - Draphim the Dragonborn (Most faved MOC of mine on Flickr) - BOB WIP (featured on Flickr's Explore page - don't ask me why) If you see a creative topic from me, I'd appreciate a comment on it - it's how I learn and become better at what I do! Millennium
Superb! Very insect-like AND robotical at the same time. In a word, adorable. In a twisted and infathomable kind of way, of course.

In a twisted and infathomable kind of way, of course. Thanks. I've heard descriptors like "Halo Brute" and all that for this MOC, but "insect-like" is a new one. In fact, I'm not quite sure what looks insect-like about it, but it's definitely an alien creature in a heavy suit of metal armour sporting a jetpack. It could be a giant insect underneath all that armour I suppose Adorable. Guess that's in the eye of the beholder I suppose Quote My Flickr - My Brickshelf - My DeviantART Latest MOC: Draphim the Dragonborn - Latest artwork: Mazzie Rati MOC Accolades: Mechan'Rex, Steel Guardian (BFTGM 2nd place on EB) - Skeletal Dragon (Featured on BZP) - Skull Imitator Corphos (Featured on Creator's Corner) - CCBS Chess (Featured on BZP) - Draphim the Dragonborn (Most faved MOC of mine on Flickr) - BOB WIP (featured on Flickr's Explore page - don't ask me why) If you see a creative topic from me, I'd appreciate a comment on it - it's how I learn and become better at what I do! SaikoRhythm
The head kinda looks like a cross between a Nui-Jaga and Barraki Carapar. I like this MOC's colors and design. Very shiny and robotic.

Very shiny and robotic. Oh yeah, I see the resemblance. Carapar with Nui-Jaga's fangs. I never usually build with any particular character design in mind, but it's always funny how they end up looking like something else I plan on doing the "greedy collector father" in the near future which is mentioned in Jetran's little self-canon bio I wrote, well I may as well complete the family I guess. Suffice to say, it will probably end up looking quite alien Quote My Flickr - My Brickshelf - My DeviantART Latest MOC: Draphim the Dragonborn - Latest artwork: Mazzie Rati MOC Accolades: Mechan'Rex, Steel Guardian (BFTGM 2nd place on EB) - Skeletal Dragon (Featured on BZP) - Skull Imitator Corphos (Featured on Creator's Corner) - CCBS Chess (Featured on BZP) - Draphim the Dragonborn (Most faved MOC of mine on Flickr) - BOB WIP (featured on Flickr's Explore page - don't ask me why) If you see a creative topic from me, I'd appreciate a comment on it - it's how I learn and become better at what I do! Sergei Rahkmaninoff
He's quite an imposing fellow, that's for sure. The weapon, despite being about the same as Axonn's Giant Axe rather than some innovative custom design, fits him rather well; it makes for an imposing weapon without going overboard on complexity or size. The glowing eyes are a neat feature. I really like the design of the legs, they do a good job of avoiding any gaps or hollows shells bring sometimes. I will say that the tread belt looks a bit too bulky to me, and the winged shell add-on on the tail might benefit from being flipped around and moved further down, but these are really minor gripes overall. Well done. Edited April 25, 2015 by Sergei Rahkmaninoff
