I don't have that much in the way of rare masks, though that's probably partly because I don't really consider masks that were available in regular sets to be that rare. The rarest masks my brother and I have are a Dark Gray Metallic (old gunmetal) Mask of Shadows and a Reddish Gold Mask of Light. Both are prototypes, obtained from BZPower at conventions. My brother and I also have two Trans. Fluor. Reddish Orange 2015 Tahu masks (from the Hero Pack) and three Transparent Tahu Masks (from NYCC—two in the normal packaging, one in the extremely limited Lego Store Event packaging). In terms of projects? I'm in the process of finishing up my final Lego Elves review for The New Elementary. I'd also like to get some more MOCs completed before BrickFair VA this year. The main thing I'd like to do is a large-ish Elves display—I have a bunch of concept models on LDD, including a carriage, lighthouse, observatory, and small sailing ship, and I'd like to order the parts to build at least one of them in real life. I also have a My Little Pony sculpture designed on LDD—I would LOVE to build it in real life and take it to a convention, but it would require a ton of Medium Lavender parts, along with some serious redesigning (some of the parts it uses heavily are just too rare and expensive to be practical). I've long wanted to try customizing some Lego mini-dolls to resemble MLP: Equestria Girls characters, but there aren't many resources on mini-doll customization and while I have some figures I could use as a base, customizing the small and curvy mini-dolls would require some extremely fine painting work that I'm not totally confident I can achieve. On to the topic: I think the only "rare" masks I own are a 4-hole chin Kraahkan from Icarax and a dark blue Ruru from the Karzahni set. Projects I'm working on? Currently I'm planning to make a full Toa Hagah team (I've been on the fence about this for a couple years now, but someone around here did it and I think I should present my own version). I'm also working on a self-MOC, but I'm very slow with MOCs, so it could be some time before we see that. I'm also considering doing a full Toa Mata team revamp, since I'm brainstorming some ideas.EDIT: I guess non-brick projects count, too. Although it's on a bit of a hiatus, I'm working on recreating the entire MNOG soundtrack with more modern software, improving its sound quality. Although it's gone now, I had a topic about this. I'm pretty sure it was you who gave me some good suggestions on instrument choice etc. As for the MIDI-ness, most "real instrument" sounds come from Miroslav Philharmonik, which is an orchestral VST. It doesn't sound the best, due to how the sampling process works (it loops the live sample, giving it a monotonous feel), but it gets the job done. The set was supposed to come with an '03 gold Kraahkan, which it did. But later in production, about the time they switched over to VoyaGold for Brutaka and the Piraka, any more Tower of Toa sets were made with a Kraahkan in that same brighter color. I don't have "rare" masks but I do have less common ones including orange vahi, chrome hau, Silver kakama nuva, trans neon green miru, brown ruru, brown matatu, and trans orange mask of fire. For rarer set mask I would have to say the gold ignika as it seems to be less common than I thought and Ultimate Dooms kraahkan. Projects that I'm working on now that is a looooong list which includes building a two foot tall moc, a bit a stop motion, writing books, tried making comics and the list goes on. -Onvermel- Quote "I believe in certainties. Hau Nuva misprint, Strakk helmet prototype, Zamor prototype, WMKK, metallic purple Akaku (Flintsmith custom) and trans-orange Miru (also from Flintsmith). These aren't pictured, but I acquired the 2015 Hau in both clear and trans-orange at BricksCascade last month. Some other cool things might be on their way in the near future. I guess you could say building up my rares collection is an ongoing project for me. doodleloot Posted May 1, 2015 Share Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) I have all 2001 European misprints, copper Komau and Huna (UK version), trans green Miru, orange and gold Vahi, 4 of the 6 Protodermic Nuva masks, a couple of infected Hau Nuvas, clear and trans red Tahu mask and a WMKKI also have an orange Shadow Leech prototype from the Bink bag. The interesting pieces are in the column on the right. Hau Nuva misprint, Strakk helmet prototype, Zamor prototype, WMKK, metallic purple Akaku (Flintsmith custom) and trans-orange Miru (also from Flintsmith).
