Hapori Tohu
The folks over at Wired celebrated Star Wars Day the best way possible; by dropping a LEGO Super Star Destroyer on the ground and watching it shatter. Better yet, they captured the whole thing in slow motion, so you can watch the various pieces and minifigures go flying. It could be a sad sight for some fans, but since it is LEGO, they can just spend another 16 hours rebuilding it. You can watch the full video here. Rahkshi Lalonde
hm, that may leave some dents, dings, and damage on some of the parts. but it does show that LEGO elements are actually quite sturdy as far as toys go. :U
CHTrilogy
All it needs is a few explosions and it'll be good for the HD remakes! 1 Quote ~ CHTrilogy
Rooster Nui
I like how the video shows the minifigures falling out and around. Oh, and that drop definitely caused some damage to a lot of the parts. At least the people there had a bit of fun.
Vorahk1Panrahk2
I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would want to do this... but whatever floats your boat. (Or crashes your starship.) 2 Quote BZPRPG Profiles
Petewa
Makes you wonder if there was a little kid nearby who saw the bricks and grabbed the minifigs immediately after the recording of the video. Quote Mataru Nui, an Interactive Adventure
The 1st Shadow
But, they... And it was... Why would they do that? Looked cool, but the damage that was clearly caused to many of the parts and the simple fact that it was shattered like that kinda irks me. Doesn't feel right. masterchirox580
I've seen this exact video done before, it's not as painful as the first time. Quote It's time to move on.
Lyichir
All things considered, the UCS Super Star Destroyer probably doesn't cost that much more than some of the actual scale setpieces that were destroyed for the filming of the original trilogy. Particularly considering that most of the parts seem like they could be salvaged. Toa Smoke Monster
I'm really glad they filmed this with a slow motion camera. That just made this even cooler than just watching it at regular speed. Ballom Nom Nom
I can't imagine putting in all the effort to assemble that only for it to be destroyed in seconds. It seems like a rather odd way to celebrate Star Wars day in general. Although, the sight of the Super Star Destroyer falling down to its destruction does remind me of when the Executor impacts the second Death Star. Maybe someone should edit this scene into that one somehow. ~B~

Nidhiki of the Shadows
Wow... that was actually pretty cool. Pains the LEGO fan part of me immensely though.; -NotS
