Any Cubers?

Recommended Posts

I've just now really started to get into solving puzzles (especially Rubik's cubes) and I've decided that I actually want to buy a speedcube. I'm trying to decide what I want in a cube, but I can't find one that matches the requirements that I need. Basically, what I want in a cube is:

  • Good corner-cutting
  • Snappy feel
  • Responsive
  • Not overly loose and/or smooth

So at the moment, I'm leaning towards the Fangshi Shuang Ren, based on what I've heard from reviews etc. Is this a good first speedcube, and does it match my needs? Also, as a side thing, what's a good 2x2? There I'm leaning towards the LanLan.

EDIT: I was also looking at the Shengshou Aurora. Is this cube also pretty snappy and tight? From what I've heard, it's pretty smooth, but still controllable.

I wasn't really aware that there were different kinds of Rubik's Cubes, nor did I know that was how you spelt Rubik's.  I now wonder, who is this Rubik?

EDIT: Typos

I am getting in to cubing as well!  I have been looking at the Rubik's speed cube lately.  I will check out the ones you are looking at as well.  Thanks for sharing!

Haha, I know I guy who's really into speed cubing. I think his favorite is a Dayan ZhanChi 3x3x3 6-Color Stickerless Speed Cube. I've played around with it before, it's crazy smooth.

I know, I know a guy who has one, too. It's a little too smooth and quick for my taste, though.
