Munty
Hey all! Figured it's about time I found some time to contribute something interesting to the forums so here it is! Hopefully there are a few other members here who will be as excited by this as I was. It's a set not listed on Bricklink and only mentioned on other comparable sites. I wasn't able to find a single image of the box ANYWHERE so it may well be that the images that follow are the only ones that currently exist! Thanks must go to Cas for finding this incredible piece, check out his store if you're looking for some nice pieces! Now onto the item. This is set no.65783, the Cable Crawler. The name is probably familiar to many of us but the set not so much. That's because this is an official boxed version of the sets required to make up the cable crawler. I can only assume that inside this outer box are the two canisters as normal but it is sealed and will remain that way while in my collection so there's no way of knowing for sure if there may be some other goodies in there I guess! I'm really pleased to have been able to add this to my collection but am even more excited at the prospect of two more of these items existing. There were three combiners after all and this is probably not the only one that was released in boxed form! I was certain I'd found evidence of the other's existence previously in fact but now I look again I don't find any other similar numbers so perhaps I was mistaken and the search must go on. Either way, here is a look at a brand new (very old) set! 10 Quote Check out my Bionicle store on Bricklink here!> > > Bionic Bricks < < < Let me know if you can help me find these last few collectibles! Also looking for WILD KRAATA and a VMKK Yo!!! Naota Takizawa
Interesting. Did the other four hordika ever come in two packs like Nokama & Nuju or was it just Vakama and Whenua? Munty
Interesting. Did the other four hordika ever come in two packs like Nokama & Nuju or was it just Vakama and Whenua? I'm assuming they did the same with the other combiners as it seems odd to do just one of the three. Of course that may not be the case but I'm certainly keeping na eye out for the other two! I'm certain I found the set numbers for the other sets at some point but trying again doesn't give any results so perhaps I was mistaken the firts time around. I thought the other sets were 65782, 65784 or something like that, it's the usual numbering convention after all that similar sets have consecutive numbers. Nothing seems to exist for those numbers though and the seller hadn't come across the others sadly... Cheesy Mac n Cheese
Seems vaguely familiar, but I'm probably imagining it because if I saw it anywhere before it would probably be more well known.Good find. EDIT: I entered the product number into LEGO's replacement part form in their customer service section. Sure enough, it comes back with "Bionicle Toa Hordika Co-pacl." Yes, "Co-pacl." Typo. So that erases any doubt that this isn't a legitimate product. The Korean Irnakk sets, however, don't get recognized... Naota Takizawa
Weren't there also two three packs with the toa hordika? One pack had Whenua, Vakama and Matau to build the protocairn and the frosteleus would be built with the other three toa hordika. Quote If you like Pingu & want to support a good project, click here. But the specific Protocairn and Frostelus packs sound familiar. Maybe that's why I found this thing familiar. Maybe I'll go poring through old LEGO Catalogs... Regitnui
Now that's a nice little find. It's great when this sort of thing pops up. Quote Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line... Toa Smoke Monster
I've never seen this combo pack before. It is a really neat find, so thanks for sharing it! P.S. Does anyone else think its funny that the name of the set, Cable Crawler, is in very small letters in the lower left corner and bottom of the box? I would think that the official name of the combiner model would be a little bigger on the box, but that is just what I think. 1 Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. Munty
Turns out there are also Kranua (65548) and Kraahu (65549) sets. Nice find Mac, a google search on those items turns up a few pics but no box shots that I could see. I did come across this though which is pretty exciting! 65277 Rahkshi Kaita Za Can't seem to find a solid image or number for the Vo pack. This gives us confirmation on at least 2 boxed combiner sets though. I think we just opened pandora's box here Quote Check out my Bionicle store on Bricklink here!> > > Bionic Bricks < < < Let me know if you can help me find these last few collectibles! Also looking for WILD KRAATA and a VMKK Yo!!! Cheesy Mac n Cheese
There's also this and this, which contain each contain all the sets to build a Bohrok Kaita, but there's no box shots, so we can't be sure they're officially for that purpose. There's also a Rahkshi Kaita Vo Kit and a Rahkshi Kaita Za Kit. There's also two co-packs, each with all the sets necessary for both Rahkshi Kaita. The Hordika
Very interesting, indeed. I recently came into possession of one of my first Bionicle sets, Hordika Vakama. On the back of the canister I saw the picture, but I can't be sure because I lost the canister Quote I'm currently in the process of rewriting G2. PM me if interested.Feel free to follow the blog!
