MNOG

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried playing Kolhii in real life? It's fun but painful.

Anyway, what are your favorite moments from either MNOG or MNOGII?

Mine has to be the Matoro scenes in MNOG and the kolhii matches in MMOGII (for some reason I never had difficulty winning :/) as well as my unnumbered attempts to reach the bottom of the great mine. I never knew you had to actually click on the air bladder.

1. Well I've played pre-Bohrok Kolhii, only with a soccer ball instead of a rock. But I don't have a lacrosse/hammer stick thing.

2. There isn't really a scene from either of the games that I don't like. But I'd say my favorite is the Tarakava battle. The raw vocal background music makes it sound so epic.

Kolhii is basically Lacross. So yes I've played Kolhii before in real life and it's decent.

By far my favourite moment in MNOG is the Le-Koro chapter, especially the Nui Rama Air Battle and the fight between Lewa and Onua.

New-Age Kolhii isn't exactly like lacrosse, there are noticeable differences.

Traditional Kolhii is s bit like soccer (or football outside the US) except the ball is 25-50 lbs and involves lots of broken bones. Crushed my chest several times while practicing.

MNOG is so full of great moments that I can't list them all. The Toa Mata's final confrontation is a really strong moment, so is Tahu's first meeting with the Tohunga. The mini-games were fun and the music was memorable.

I like MNOGII's RPG elements and art design but that game doesn't stick as much unfortunately.

I loved the ominous feelings throughout the entirety of MNOG. Such as the legend in the sand pit, the strange markings on the telescope, the Red Star, the reveal of the infected Kolhii balls, the signs in Ko-Wahi, the golden Hau in the seal, and the really odd music in Ko-Koro.

I don't have a favorite moment from the game as I'm pretty indecisive. But, I love all the cutscenes and the obvious time and effort put into them.

Playing the game when I was 6 and crying at the end because I thought it was all over. ;u;

I loved the mystery, the intensity, the lore, the backstory, the characters, the atmosphere, the music, the art, the mechanics, the puzzles, the designs, EVERYTHING. This game is one of my favorite games to date and is on my top 5 for a reason. :)

I beat a couple of games of Kolhii by letting the offense of the other team go up to my goal and just running in place in front of him so he couldn't move. *ashamed*

On top of that, almost all my goals were actually the other team accidentally putting the ball in their goals. *loser*

My friend went to Po-Wahi and all I got was this lousy rock.

Bro, you forgot the Le-Koro dancing scene.

My most memorable moment has to be the Battle of Mangaia between The Makuta and the Toa Mata; and on the white sandy beach and the bleached rock, looking through the telescope, observing the prophecies, and watching The Legend of Mata Nui and Makuta. [*starts listening to the music for The Red Star*]

For MNOGII, it was getting out of Ga-Koro.

Reading through these posts has awakened so many memories, haha. I really need to do another playthrough.

Most memorable moment of MNOG for me was probably watching the final battle between the Toa and Makuta, although now I'd have to say that the soundtrack might be my favourite thing about the game.

My favorite moment, as I have said many times before, is when Tamaru pretends to fly while sitting on the edge of a platform in Le-Koro. The fact that he is away from the rest of his village at the dance party is an interesting way of showing how he is different from others.

I found something interesting:

kapuras_words.png

It wasn't the beginning of time, but everything boxed in red is literally what happened.

Anyway on topic, this is one of my favorite moments:

le-koro_band.png

Possibly the happiest moment in the entire BIONICLE franchise (not like there's many others to compete with). And it's so cute how Taipu, the foreigner, kinda keeps his distance to stay in his comfort zone, but still joins in on the dancing. I can't believe I just called a Matoran, and a male one on top of that, cute. But it's true. The Matoran in both MNOLGs were cute. It may conflict with the story, but you have to admit they're just like cute little kids.

EDIT: As for your Kolhii question, we played lacrosse in 7th grade one time where I was a goalie. I was wearing shorts, and the ball hit me in the shin really hard. It wasn't so much the internal bone and muscle of my leg that hurt, but the unpleasant stinging sensation on my skin. I can only imagine how much worse it would be if it were a Kolhii ball instead. Can you say "shattered tibia?"

MNOG has some fantastic cutscenes but Lewa vs Onua, the Manas scenes and the confrontation with Makuta are some of the best animations I've ever seen anywhere. But overall the entire game is really atmospheric.

As far as MNOG II is concerned, I really love the crystal temples and their mysterious aura surrounding them (particularly the purity, prosperity, creation and peace temples) so I'd say those are probably my favorite parts of the game.
