Best Way To Review Story?

I want to review the full story of Bionicle since I'm a little older and my memory's a bit rusty. I know of Biomedia Project and such but should I read the books or the comics? And where can I find them on Biomedia Project (sorry if it's a stupid question, the layout changed since I was last there)?

Bionicle Wiki is notoriously unreliable. You'd have better luck asking a rabbi how to cook a pork chop then you would getting reliable info from the Bionicle Wiki.

 

Your best bet is to go to Biosector 01, at http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page, since they're widely considered way more reliable.

If you want to experience the full story, yes. Read all the books, comics, serials, blogs, watch all the movies, flash episodes, CG animations, and play all the (canon) games.

 

If you just want an overview, read BIONICLESector01 wiki's Saga Guides. However, since the true BIONICLE experience starts with the 2001 storyline (which is not the first chronological storyline in-universe) this probably isn't the way to go, as they go in chronological order, and even if you read the Mata Nui saga guides first, they're full of spoilers because they assume you know everything that happened previously.

It's the one that comes up first when I google it, so I imagine it's fairly up to date.

The reason why is because Wikia is a massive system of webpages so Google automatically puts it first on the list, no matter how unreliable it is.

As others have said, BioMedia Project and BS01 are your best sources. Tons of compiled info there that you might not even recognize from the first time around.

 

Also, if you can get a hold of the books, those are awesome.

I'm pretty sure you can find the books online somewhere, but you didn't hear it from me.

 

BS01 is good for general review and staying up all night reading wiki pages, but it's always fun to read the books/serials/comics and play the games if you've got the time. Bionicle's always been an immersive experience, which makes it so riveting.

Why can't we just let the BTG commercial die?

 

I'm going to add that Wikia wikis are some of the worst around. In terms of grammar, accuracy, redundancy, bias, and they hose up my computer like no other site.

I personally like to go through the CGI images included in the old instruction manuals for sets as my story refresher. In captionless images, they hit on the important beats (The Toas' arrival, the discovery of the Exo-Toa, the Bohrok Kal robberies, etc.) while still exuding that old, often-discussed BIONICLE aura of mystery. As time passes and we grow older and forget more of the fine details, images like these will continue to evoke the glories of BIONICLE long past and suggest a mythic story that will only grow in appreciation as the decades roll on.
