Minifig Help

For designing a sigfig (signature minifigure, or the minifigure equivalent of a self-MOC), there are some Bricklink searches that can be pretty useful. For starters, you want freckles, so just searching "Freckles" on Bricklink (for convenience's sake, I limited the search to minifigure heads) brings up a host of options. Obviously, I can see that the illustration you provided would seem to match a Light Nougat skin tone (the color Bricklink calls Light Flesh), but it's your choice if you want to go for a realistic skin tone or a classic yellow. Yellow would give you more options in this case, I think.

As for hair, the hair in this illustration is long, wavy, and brown. Even just from glimpsing at it I can't think of any better hair piece than this one (Olivia's from LEGO Friends). Don't worry, all LEGO Friends hair works just fine on traditional minifigures. Minifigures generally don't wear earrings, but this hair would cover where the "ears" would be anyway.

As far as the torso is concerned, a rainbow tunic is pretty specific, and a scarf even more so. No official torso exists with both. Probably best to go completely custom with this one. What base torso color is up to you, but bear in mind that the sides and top of a minifigure torso generally aren't decorated, so that might help you come to a decision there. If you want the figure to look like an official minifigure, bear in mind that official minifigure torsos only use six printed colors on the front and five on the back! But if you use more, I don't think most people would notice. Solid stripes will definitely look more official than gradients, though. For all I know that might not even be a concern of yours.

Likewise for the arms, decorated minifigure arms are fairly rare, and there don't exist any with both short sleeves and jewelry/wristbands, so again, custom is probably the way to go. I recommend NOT buying arms that already have short sleeves, since those are rarer and thus probably more expensive. Easier to paint the sleeves onto a pair of Light Nougat (Light Flesh) arms. Legs aren't in the illustration, so your choice what color to use and whether you want any decorations (pockets, etc).

If you're particular about the eyes being blue, you might want to go with a mini-doll rather than a minifigure! There are some minifigures with colored eyes, but they are a rarity. Most minifigures have simple black bead eyes. There are no male mini-doll heads with blue eyes and freckles (yet), but adding freckles to one would not be hard. If you want a more angular face (like those used for dads in the LEGO Friends sets, or for all male characters in the Disney Princess and Elves sets), Prince Eric's from the Disney Princess range could be a good one to start with. On the other hand, if you prefer a rounder face like girls and teenage boys in the LEGO Friends sets use, this one used for Andrew and Julian from the LEGO Friends sets might be the best base (don't worry, although the photo on Bricklink is bad, both faces are the same color and have the same color eyes).

A mini-doll would mean using a different torso as well. Again, though, there are none that would have both a scarf and a rainbow tunic, so customizing is a must. There are two male body types for the mini-doll — the "adult man" torso, pretty much only used for Olivia and Emma's dads, and the "teenage boy" torso, used for basically all other male characters. The "adult man" torso has a broader chest and thicker arms, and this one is probably what you'd want to use as a base. The "teenage boy" torso is slimmer and uses the same arms as female mini-dolls. Farran's torso from LEGO Elves is probably the most affordable and widely-available, since it comes in a $15 set and a $50 set, so probably best to use that one as a base.

I have no idea what kind of clothing and shoes you'd want for your lower body but here's the available range of mini-doll legs. Unless you consider certain outfits "male" or "female" (and I get the impression you're more progressive than that) they're basically unisex, so take your pick. As always, customization is an option.

Gosh, I spent quite a while on this. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you so much! I planned on a minifig, not a doll.

So I'll get one of the freckled faces, and look for a skin tone tone, which I'll paint completely. Stripes is okay. I can debate on if to paint on the scarf or knit a small one.

For the legs, I'll probably use a dress brick. Not sure what size they are.

Wow you know a lot about making signature mini figures there Aanchir. That is a lot of specific information.

CarumEsSarene, I may be able to fashion you a mini-figure in LDD, let me see if I can take your picture and develop something. Could give you some ideas as to what parts look good to better access what you may want...

EDIT: Alright here you go Lass. Tell me what you think.

I tried looking and the closest thing to your picture in shirt form was a Hawaiian looking one with a palm tree on it. Also they have a scarf neck piece but you can't use it and the long hair options. Even the medium or Pulled-back ponytail hair pieces are out. Also didn't know what kind of dress you were looking for so I just picked one at random...

Wow! It looks great :D Thank you ♥

I'll save the image and search for the parts on Bricklink once I can afford them.

Again, Thank you!

Well I am glad you like it and you are very welcome.

If you have the material I guess you could always fashion yourself your own scarf for your mini-figure. The one I mentioned was hard plastic not cloth so that is why. a Cloth one you make yourself or may get off Bricklink(If they have one,) could work in real life but not in the LDD.
