Eh?

There's no way I was not going to get it, and I still am, but... I'm slightly turned off by that price for how much you get. Plus regardless of that, I genuinely feel that the kitchen should have been included. Then it would really feel like you're actually getting "the apartment" and not just a cramped living room.

All of the minifigs look fantastic though. And what is there I like. Just had hoped for a bit more.

The minifigs look good, and I like the minor details on the apartment. (The background stuff, in particular.) But overall this set doesn't do a lot for me. Though that may be because I'm not a fan of the show.

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

Not a great set. I agree that the kitchen should have been included, a lot of time is spent there in the show. Minifigures look pretty great though, glad they included all the ladies too.

But seeing as I don't really like this show anymore and this set isn't great I'm gonna have to pass (and wait for the Doctor Who one!)

$60? For that? It's barely worth $30.

I simply cannot believe Lego has stooped so low as to make sets for a sitcom. Why???

This is not what Lego Ideas was meant for.

At least 10,000 people think otherwise. LEGO Ideas is for discovering potential sets from the LEGO fan community, no matter what those potential sets might be. And if people like sitcoms, it goes without saying that sets based on sitcoms will be among those vying for a LEGO Ideas slot.

Besides that, I challenge you to show me a $30 set with seven unique minifigures and 450 additional pieces. Good luck with that...

Generally, I'm impressed with this set and glad they didn't cut out the more recent main characters like Amy and Bernadette. A 4:3 gender ratio in a licensed set is nothing to sneeze at. The space is cozy and features lots of cute accessories. The figures are distinctive, but their parts are still quite versatile. Don't know if I'll get this set but I'm sure it'll be fairly popular.

10,000 people do a lot of things.

Lego Ideas is meant for discovering potential CREATIVE sets from the Lego fan community. Copying from a progressively uncreative TV show is not what the Lego Ideas people were hoping for builders to send in.

I think literally all but one of the Lego Ideas creations that have passed the evaluation have been licensed properties.

Okay, you got me there.

That guy looks like he's waving underpants.

All the builder did was include the main characters.

The space is cozy and features lots of cute accessories. The figures are distinctive, but their parts are still quite versatile. Don't know if I'll get this set but I'm sure it'll be fairly popular.

Yes. It is cozy. There are a lot of cute accessories. All in all it's a nice set.

But if someone had submitted this exact set under the name "Living Room" instead of "Big Bang Theory" it would have barely gotten two votes. People didn't vote for this set because they like IT, necessarily, they voted because they like the show.

It's sending the message - to me, at least - that the only sets that will get 10,000 votes are the ones that are based entirely off of someone else's work.

7 minifigures is a lot, but standard/fine price-per-piece for system-based sets is considered 10 cents per piece. Anything else is typically considered expensive. Obviously it's not going to be $30, but this set probably ought to be in the 40-50 dollar range. Now, usually licensed sets cost somewhat more, but still $60 is a bit much for this small set (although in your defense it's not out-of-nowhere bizarre like that Smaug set, seems like more of a dubiosly reasonable stretch). I'm honestly glad Lego didn't find some excuse to make it at an even higher price point like the Simpsons sets, to the point that nobody is going to be willing to pay for it (they've gone crazy about making about that in recent years, nobody is going to pay $130 for a Jurassic World set etc) just out of greed or whatever, but for what this set is the price is still high.

Pretty good set though, nice that they included so many characters from the show and all those nice details in the room like the Green Lantern lantern, etc. Good for fans of the show.

Thank you, BZPower staff. In the past, I wish I showed more appreciation for all that you do. From one Bionicle fan to another, thank you.

What qualifies a set to be overpriced? I know that the ones that come from Lego Ideas tend to be just that, but I also know that the Marvel Superheroes line is in-between overpriced and reasonable, while Star Wars tends to be a little cheaper.

But as for this set itself, I don't see much value to this. Sure I enjoyed the show back in the day, but most of the pieces that make of this model are just mini-bricks.

I don't quite get why this is going against the nature of Lego Ideas / Cuusoo. The final model is remarkably close to the original, which I found quite impressive. Lego's not supposed to redesign these ideas; the whole point is for the users design to be the main factor here. I'm quite impressed that they did stay so close. As for price, I can pick out a couple of molds that seem to be in new (or rare) colors, and that contributes to the cost, not to mention the fine details in all the figs. I wasn't exactly into the idea originally, but seeing this as a parts pack is making me reconsider personally.

Eh, I truly detest the show, but this set looks like it has some nice pieces (the Chinese food takeaway box, all the pictures on the wall, the minifigure torsos) and the bookshelves are quite cool. Still, it's nothing special, and for $60 I certainly shan't be buying it - whether it's overpriced or not, I honestly have no interest in buying a set of a TV show I hate.
