The UltimoScorp
Hey, all. So, as you've seen from my MOC Dump the other day, most of my MOCs are done in LDD. Well today, I give you the first physical real life MOC I've done in a while. While it doesn't have a name or anything yet, it might soon. For now, consider it a self-MOC. http://imgur.com/a/X6kpS There's the album link, let me know what you like, what you don't, and what could be improved! Thanks much! Makuta Miras
Like I said over Skype, the neck's too long. Other than the Metrutoran armour colour, which you should be able to fix with a quick Bricklink order, you've pretty much nailed a red, silver and black colour scheme. I particularly like the sword, but then, swords are always good. Something else I'd consider looking at would be either making the lower legs shorter or increasing the size of the shin armour; the 2M armourless space on the upper shin looks a bit weird. I'd also say swap out the feet for some smoother ones like the Mata feet; the G1 aesthetic feels out of place on the feet as they are.All in all, another pretty solid MOC. Keep up the good work! (Also I thought this was meant to be Toa Kat? )
The UltimoScorp
The sword is actually the simplest part. Just a brutal a blade with the upper handle stuck in and the lower one extended. With the fingers it gives the illusion of being held in the hand. I wanted to do more with the armor, but oddly my supply of red bionicle parts is limited since they switched to Metru red later on. All that aside, the feet are about the only pieces I have in black. Unless I used Rahkshi feet, the black unilateral feet are really the only ones I have. 32one
I think the silver works very well with the bright red, but the dark red, trans orange, and grey friction extenders throw off the colour scheme. The metruran chest almost always results in head posability issues unless lowered as done on Sidorak, and your solution makes the head look a bit weird because of its height. Maybe a custom torso or the narrow-shouldered HF torso would work better. The sword matches nicely with the armour.
The UltimoScorp
The head is properly situated to the shoulders of the inika chest that I used for the upper torso. If I removed the friction extender, the head looks like it's hunched, and doesn't work at all. The Dark red Metru chest was unavoidable in my situation, as are the grey friction extenders, as the chest is the only one I have, and the extenders only come in that color. The trans orange hands were more a personal choice, and are an accent color. I'd put more but couldn't find enough trans orange pieces. Thank you for your feed back! Dallior
I was about to say something about the color, 32one beat me to it. Good MOC, Scorp! I like how it's powerful, but not too bulky (unlike my Jakura Nuva MOC ). The black torso makes the Metruan chest look like it's floating! Good job!
