2015 limited edition masks/sets

Old school Bionicle fan here!

I’m trying to collect all the new sets. I bought all the current Spring sets and the hero packs. Are there any limited edition sets  that are more difficult to find? I swear I read somewhere that there are special limited edition masks that were released earlier this year. Is this true and where can I find these masks?

The comics have not returned to the lego magazine, correct?

Thanks BZP people,

Hi there! Welcome to the forum, first!

Second, there are currently no limited edition sets, but there are 3 known limited edition masks; the clear Tahu mask from the Bionicle event back in September/October from NYCC (I believe), the trans-Orange Tahu mask from the Hero Pack which came with any order from a Lego store back in the winter, and a trans-Blue Gali mask from the Lego tour from 2015 (which could possibly be the rarest right now)

As for finding them, check out the Buy/Sell/Trade forum on here, or other websites that typically have items up for sale from people. I'm sure somebody here would be willing to help :)

Hope this helps!

The other answer about limited-edition masks is pretty much spot-on, but regarding your question about the comics—no, there are no longer Bionicle comics in the Lego Magazine. However, there are mini-comics in every set's instruction booklet, and there will be graphic novels (and chapter books) based on the new story this fall.

I want to give you a warm welcome to BZPower! I know your question was already answered but I'll do it again :P

Currently, not including standard sets, there are three exclusive masks. There was a completely clear Tahu mask that was given out at NYCC, I bought mine off ebay for 20-ish bucks but now they're going up to 45-50 dollars, if you plan on getting one, get it soon. You seem to have a hero pack or two, so that one shouldn't matter. Then there's the translucent dark blue (same shade as the dark translucent armor on Protector of Water) Gali mask, that was given out at the Lego Insider Tour, a very expensive and very in depth tour of Lego, and was only given out there to people on the tour, with a few extras made for internal use. Given the nature of the mask's limited availability, Lego discouraging people from selling them in the aftermarket for Inside Tour participants, and the fact that the people going on the tour aren't typically the type of people to sell the masks, it will be nigh impossible to get one, sadly. (Info on the Gali mask courtesy of Lyichir and Aanchir, who went on the tour) There was actually a few days of drama here when the mask came out, but I digress.

With the story question, there are 4 story related books coming out so far:

Island of the Lost Masks (LEGO Bionicle: Chapter Book #1)  http://www.amazon.com/Island-Lost-Masks-LEGO-Bionicle/dp/0545873258

Revenge of the Skull Spiders (LEGO Bionicle: Chapter Book #2)  http://www.amazon.com/Revenge-Skull-Spiders-LEGO-Bionicle/dp/0545905907

LEGO BIONICLE: Graphic Novel #1  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0316266221

LEGO BIONICLE: Graphic Novel #2  http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-BIONICLE-Graphic-Novel-2/dp/0316309141

These are being released in August, December, November, and February, respectively

Along with these, there is going to be Activity Book With Mask (LEGO Bionicle: Activity Book #1) although the mask that comes with this is going to be one already released in a set, (Most likely either the mask from the Protector of Fire set, or the mask that Ekimu wears in the Skull Grinder vs Mask Maker set of the next summer wave, which has been released in a few places in the UK, but is still a month or two away in most other places) The contents of this book are going to be, from what I understand, very childish stuff, like coloring pages, puzzles, and mazes, nothing important.

All of the story that is talked about here is going to be from the Bionicle website's animations: http://www.lego.com/en-us/bionicle/story/the-legend

I hope I didn't miss anything, I wasn't that observant during G1 so I've been soaking up everything I can find about the reboot.

In honor of the anniversary, I'm making a signature. Neat.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome and all the info on the masks and comics! I'll be searching Ebay for them.

It's awesome BZP is still going strong after all these years. I'm definitely going to be more involved this time around.

Can't wait for summer sets,
