It's been a few days since our last 2015 Bionicle summer set review, and it's time we got back to it. Today Forum Assistant Zatth takes a look at 70793 Skull Basher, one of the many enemies that fills this wave (just like the old days!). Will this set bash its way through your home like a bull in a china shop, or will it leave you seeing red? You'll have to read and watch on to find out - but it's worth it, because we're giving one of these sets away!

This set looks awesome! He kind of looks like a worthy opponent for Onua to fight, makes me think that they probably going to fight Hulk-vs.-Abomination style, even though that Skull Basher comes in a smaller box than Onua's box. I like the buff on SB. Makes him look like a bruiser or bouncer in a way, perfect for his role as the guard of the Temple of Creation. His axes look awesome, too. Plus, his mask looks neat. His design resembles a Minotaur very well. It's interesting that there is this button on his back that pushes his arms as if they can grab or hug.:P Anyway, I definitely want to buy the set when it comes out in U.S.!:D

Good review! Skull Basher is one of my favorites of the new villains. He has an amazingly unique function, an extremely powerful look in spite of clearly being a skeleton, and an awesome color scheme.

When I first saw pics of Skull Basher from New York Toy Fair, I thought his function would be more or less the same as the flapping wings function of Dragon Bolt, with both his arms swinging in tandem. I didn't consider the possibility of the arms being able to swing individually. It's quite creative how they managed that.

However, it looks like you missed some 4M cross axles on the weapons? They are added in the last step of the instruction booklet to complete the handles of the axes.

Hooray for more trans-purple pieces! :)

Also, I will say that these summer sets in general are a lot better than I thought they would be. Skull Basher probably won't be my first summer set I get though, but I'm definitely considering getting him now.

Thanks for the review!

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

Never know you could "aim" the arms and then bash. Pretty cool, plus interesting build with the no gearbox. I still think his horns are a tad oversized

This and Warrior are probably the only Summer sets I'd get, not too fond of the price of the two sets together (I believe is Skull Grinder and Mask Creator).  Slicer looks underwhelming and I'm not fond of the look of Scorpio.

Poor Skull Basher is so misunderstood. He just wants to give everyone a hug!

Nice review, overall. I hadn't checked as much info about his function earlier, so it was a pleasant surprise to learn that the arms can be moved independently of each other like that.

What a delish set. I love the trans-purple + orange colour scheme (very nice mix) and the overall design of Skull Basher is fairly impressive. In fact, the bashing function is probably the most innovative play function I've seen in a Bionicle set in a while. I can't wait to pick this up. Was gonna anyway, but this review definitely just got me more pumped. Thanks! :)
