Chronicler06
I'll admit that it's been a while since I last read any of the rules topics, but what I do recall is that in order for a member to become a Premier Member, that member would need to donate a certain amount of money to help cover the site's running costs. At this time, I can't recall much more than that PayPal is the preferred method of payment. My question is this: Is PayPal the only way to purchase Premier Membership? Or are there other methods I could use? I'm asking because I don't have a PayPal account, and I'd rather not make one only so I could make a rather small once-a-year purchase. -Windrider-
There used to be other ways, but currently, PayPal is the only one accepted. Everything you need to know can be found here: "How can I send my money?Currently we only accept PayPal and ask that members pay an additional $0.50 to help defray the PayPal fees." Chronicler06
Well, that stinks. I guess I'll just have to wait until I have a legitimate reason to get a PayPal account before I can purchase Premier Membership. (And I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be allowed to ask someone who does have an account to make that payment on my behalf, correct?) -Windrider-
If you take that route, you can totally use the gift voucher system. Someone can purchase the appropriate voucher for you using their own PayPal, send you the code for you to redeem, and then you reimburse them somehow. That said, it wouldn't be too good to go around soliciting random members to do it for you. But friends, people you know and trust - there shouldn't be a problem with it then. It might be roundabout, but it would be legal. But yes, the voucher system would have to be used; otherwise, the Premier Membership would be applied to the BZP account used to send the donation. Chronicler06
I think I'd rather not go through with all of that hassle, so I'll just pass on Premier Membership for now.
