Octavius
Is it safe to put rubber bionicle pieces in hot water to " unbend " it? If so could I do it in boiling water?

Evergrey: Toa of Music
That sounds pretty risky. Which piece specifically are you trying to "unbend"? 2 Quote Other great bands: Iron Maiden Journey Mercenary The Unguided Trivium Boston Stratovarius Symphony X Epica

The 1st Shadow
I once "unbent" a socket on my friend's Keelerak by holding it a few inches over a candle and bending it back with pliers. To this day, the piece works fine. Hot water should be much safer to use than an open flame, so you're probably good. 1 Quote ~Your friendly, neighborhood Shadow ~Credit for Avatar and Banner goes to NickonAquaMagna~
Rooster Nui
From my experience, a Piraka spine is safe. However, rubber bands aren't. I wouldn't exactly try it with boiling water, but really hot water in general works. Just remember to remove the light-up piece before proceeding to wash the other piece/s.
Meiko
Keep the water under 90°C (~190°F) or else you'll risk warping the plastic more severely than you intend, including possibly expanding it. If you notice the water boiling, it's too hot. 3 Quote -- Meiko - @georgebarnick LUG Ambassador and administrator at Brickipedia News reporter and database administrator at Brickset Administrator at BIONICLEsector01 DISCLAIMER: All opinions and contributions made under this account are based solely on my own personal thoughts and opinions, and in no way represent any of the above groups/entities. Guardian Legend
I collect other action figures from other toy lines where the weapons are often bent out of place due to the way they are packaged. What I do is simply heat up water in the microwave, but not boiling, and then dip the plastic into the cup/mug for a few seconds until you actually see it lose it's shape and become malleable. Then . quickly take it out, bend it into the shape you want it, and dip that in ice water for a bit. Works all the time for soft rubbers/plastics like that. Quote “We all change. onuafrombionicle
When I used water on the rubbers they work still very well. My recommend is to use water on rubbers little.
