Recommended Posts

LEGO Community Manager Tim Courtney has made a new post on the LEGO Ideas blog: Introducing LEGO Ideas #011 WALL-E. As you can probably guess from the title, the latest set from LEGO Ideas has now been officially released, with high resolution images for us to ogle over. The set will be available starting on September 1st and will retail for $49.99 in the US. I know I'm looking forward to getting my copy - how about you?

Can we get a MO or EVE next?

I doubt MO is prominent enough to merit a set of his own (though you could probably build him fairly easily). As for EVE, while I'd LOVE a set of her, curves like hers are a NIGHTMARE to build out of Lego. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it'd be very hard to match the level of detail on WALL-E to a satisfactory degree.

This set looks great. The only thing that's weird to me is that they made the neck grey, whereas Wall-E has a yellow one in the movie. Is September 1st the international release date or does that only count for specific countries?

Are you sure? The pictures I find when I google aren't in the best lighting, but it looks rusted grey to me. Considering the person who made the model worked on the movie, I should hope the color layout is as accurate as possible.

Oh yeah, I think you're right. It looked like rusted yellow to me because the rest of his grey parts aren't as discolored as the neck.
